UncommonGoods.

A few weeks ago I was contacted by UncommonGoods to go a review of one of their products. I quickly jumped aboard! UncommonGoods is one of my go-to websites to browse for Christmas and Birthday gifts. They always have the type of gifts that you would never think even existed..which is a great thing!

While browsing on their website, trying to decide on which product to review, I came across numerous gifts under $50, Father's Day gift ideas, and gift ideas for that recent graduate in your life.

Here are some of my favorites:

Gifts Under $50
Even more gift ideas under $50 can be found here.

More ideas for Father's Day gifts can be found here.

More graduation gift ideas can be found here.

Ultimately, I (ok, Cameron) chose the Sunset Wine Tote. The perfect and cutest insulated, portable tote for you winos out there. Along with the portable tote, it comes with two plastic wine glasses, two blue gingham cloth napkins, and a wine opener. How handy is that?!? I personally plan on taking ours out on the boat one day after work ASAP.
Sorry, wine not included.

China Cabinet Reveal [+Giveaway Winner!]

I'm so excited to share the china cabinet reveal with y'all this morning! If you follow me on Instagram, you got a sneak peek last night. After sitting in our garage for months, Cameron finally gave me a deadline of getting it done by Mother's Day since we were having everyone over for brunch. Deadlines give me motivation.
It turned out 10x better than I expected it to!

Drawer pulls - Original
Exterior color - Behr Cotton Knit
Interior color - Discontinued Sherwin Williams that we got color matched. Sorry.

Life Lately With a Photo Dump.

Last week, before eating dinner at Mex 1 for David's birthday, Katie did a small gender reveal for Emily and I!
Just act like her eyes were open. :)
IT'S A BOY!!
Friday after work, I got a wild hair to do yard work. Afterwards, I rewarded myself with a watermelon margarita. Deeeeeelicious. That night, Shannon, Coleman, Emily, and David came over for cornhole, cigars, and libations. Good times, but sadly, no pics.

Influenster sent me their Spring Fever Voxbox last week and I'm having fun trying out the new products! MIA is the Reese's TastyKake. I devoured that thing immediately. My favorite product out of the box is the Schwarzkopf OSiS Dust It hair product. It is a mattifying powder that provides light style control. It also gives your hair a little extra body, which I desperately need.

Made a tasty, healthy dinner last week from Skinny Taste's website: Zesty Lime Shrimp and Avocado Salad. I want to make another batch of this to eat for lunch next week! So light and refreshing.

Picture from Caroline's birthday dinner last night at The Roost.
Disclaimer: Emily is not really a giant.

Wedding Wednesday: Pickle Bar!

File this under the category of "Why Didn't I Think of That??"

We all know about my love for pickles.
Spoiler alert - we had fried pickle chips passed around during our cocktail hour!
I even thought about making homemade pickles as our wedding favors.

But man, oh man, do I wish I would have seen this Southern Weddings post before our wedding!

Some people have bourbon bars at their wedding, but this couple had a pickle bar at theirs!

What kind of specialty bar would you have or liked to have had at your wedding??

Tasty Tuesday: Pimento Cheese Grits.

As requested, here is the recipe I used for the pimento cheese grits I made on Mother's Day! I promise, you will never go back to the regular ones.

½C Instant Grits
1C Heavy Cream
1C Chicken Stock
1T Butter
2/3C Pimento Cheese (Palmetto is my favorite)

In a pot, bring the cream and chicken stock to a boil. Slowly stir in the grits and bring down to medium heat and simmer 5-7 minutes. Melt the butter into the grits. Lastly, add the pimento cheese and whisk until the grits are creamy. Set aside and keep warm.

Supper Club, needtobreathe, and Mother's Day Brunch Menu.

Friday night we had Supper Club at Emily & David's house. All of the food was so tasty and my chocolate brownie trifle was a hit! The bowl was pretty much licked clean by the end of the night!

Saturday we spent all day cleaning the house and getting it ready for Sunday. Drove to Folly Beach to celebrate Cameron's grandma's husband's 90th birthday, then went to La Hacienda for some pre-concert drinks with Justin and Jenny.

After the nastiest margaritas I've ever tasted and a refreshing beer, we headed to the Performing Arts Center. It was our first time seeing a show at the PAC and we both thought it was awesome! Intimate and amazing acoustics. We had great seats, right in the middle, but being in the middle, it was a longgg walk through people to go to the bathroom. Needless to say, we did not drink that much.

The opening band, Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors, were AWESOME! Think Lumineers sound. In between bands, Jenny and I stood in line to meet Drew and get his autograph so we can say we met him before he made it big. Because they will.
Please excuse my double jointed thumb.

A few pics from the needtobreathe concert:

On Sunday, we invited our parents, my sister, and our grandmother's over for a brunch! I was so excited to pull out all of our new plates, platters, etc!

Here's what I served:

French Toast Casserole

Breakfast Casserole
(or Egg Bake, as Cameron's family calls it)

Pimento Cheese Grits
(All thanks to Natalie for telling her readers about the ones that she ordered at a restaurant last weekend!)

Fresh Fruit Salad

I received so many compliments so I'd say it was a success! I'll never make grits without pimento cheese again!

Hope all of you blog (and fur) mamas had a wonderful Mother's Day!
