Four Months.

Happy Friday! I feel like we're just blowing through these weeks and months now!
Travis (L), Reid (R)

Stats - Reid weighs 14lbs (45th percentile) and is 24 3/4" tall (50th percentile). Travis weighs 13lbs 14oz (25th percentile) and is 25 1/2" tall (75th percentile..WHAT!).

Dr. Smith saw some white bumps on their bottom gums which means we are officially teething. YIKES!

Reid is definitely the chattier baby and loves the sound of his own voice, whether its babbling or screaming, but both can melt hearts with their smiles and giggles!

Eating - We transitioned to the next Moms On Call schedule once they started sleeping through the night, which increased their bottles to 6.5oz each time. Each bottle is of breastmilk, except for a formula bottle before bed due to not producing quite enough for that last bottle of the day. Eating at 7am, 10:30am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm.

I forgot to mention last month that I am no longer having to eat dairy and soy free. After three weeks of it and having Reid on dairy free formula, I started reintroducing my breastmilk back to him. I accidentally ate something with butter in it and didn't see any side effects in him. So I started eating a little more and a little more dairy. Still no side effects. So, I think maybe I jumped the gun and he was just going through a gassy, fussy period. So happy to be eating cheese, butter, and soy again!

Diapers - Right at the time that they turned 4 months old, they started wearing size 3 diapers.

Clothes - Wearing clothes anywhere from size 3 months to 6 months.

First sicknesses - Travis got a 24 hr stomach bug and Reid got a cold that we're still dealing with a yucky cough from (going on 2 weeks)

Exciting moments - Travis rolled from stomach to back for the first time February 17th, but hasn't again since then. He's also pretty close to rolling from back to stomach. Reid seems to have no interest in either.

Travis and Reid were baptized on February 19, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Travis wore a bubble that Cameron's older brother, who Travis is named after, wore when he was baptized. Reid wore a gown that my granddaddy, sister, and I wore when we were all baptized. They behaved so well! When they were presented to the congregation, Reid even gave out a little giggle. Following the baptism, a beautiful reception was held at Cameron's parents house on Johns Island. It was a beautiful, sunny day!

They wore their Shake and Bake onesies on this day which was my dad's birthday (he gave them the nickname). This was also the day of the Daytona 500.

Three Months.

My babies are getting so big! Each month gets better and better and more fun! Less fussiness and more sweetness, thank goodness! More sleep, too!

Weight - No official pediatrician appointment this month, but we took the boys in for a few minor things on January 21st (11 weeks old). Reid weighed 11lbs 6oz and Travis weight 11lbs 10oz.

Eating - Around the 2.5 month mark, our breastfeeding journey came to an end. The mommy guilt kicks in from time to time, but then I remind myself that they are still getting breastmilk and we are all happier as a result of that decision. We were following the Moms on Call 4-8 week schedule, which is what the book suggests until they start sleeping through the night. So they were eating at 6 or 7am (whenever they woke up for the day), 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 5:30pm, and 8:30pm. If they woke up in the middle of the night, we'd try to shush them back to sleep, but if we couldn't, we'd feed them. On this schedule, they were getting 5-5.5oz bottles each feeding.

Sleeping -  January 31st was the first time they slept through the night, 2 days shy of turning 3 months. This was also the night before I went back to work! It's like they knew! They will wake up and squirm a little bit now, but put themselves back to sleep. They wake up for the day between 6:30-7. If they wake up at different times, I take advantage of the one on one time by holding them while feeding them a bottle, rather than putting them in their Rock n Plays and propping bottles in their mouths.

Milestones - Smiling and cooing up a storm. Batting at the toys hanging from their play mat, bouncy seat, and car seat. Kicking like crazy, especially in the bath! Summertime at the pool is going to be so fun! Both really love holding their Oball. Can both hold theirs heads up and so close to not wobbling. They are the happiest in the bath and laying on their changing table! They also really like to stand in our laps!

Favorite Baby Gear - Nail clippers with a light (their nails grow so fast!!), Dohm white noise machine (blocks out so much noise!), bouncy seat and sit me up seat (they think they're big boys now and rarely like to lay down)

Lunch date with our other twin friends, Oliver and Sam!

The morning I went back to work

Travis and Reid's Nursery

Like most girls who long for the day to become a mother, visions of what my baby's nursery would look like filled my head (and Pinterest boards). I always knew I didn't want it to look too "baby," if that makes any sense. Black and white always stuck out to me, too. Apparently, babies can only see in black and white during their first few weeks of life, mostly due to the high contrast of the colors. After deciding on the black and white, I knew I needed a pop of some color and I always came back to the picture of the dresser in this nursery.

Trying to find the perfect accent rug was quite the task, and it still isn't perfect, but this one is soft and I'm learning to deal with it. :)

We rearranged the nursery quite a few times, even after they were born, and think we finally found the perfect layout!

The framed photo to the left of the window is a poem that Cameron's father wrote when the original Travis Baker was born. Cameron's mom typed it and had it framed. How special!

The canvas to the right of the window was the photo that I took for my 24 week bump pic. My aunt had it blown up for one of my showers.

The framed hand calligraphied names are actually cards that my best friend, Emily, had done for me by one of her student's moms! I love them so much, I probably won't ever use the other cards! Haha
