Friday Five {Five Outfit Ideas to Wear on Christmas}.

Is anyone else baffled that Christmas is in 6 days?!? Seems like we say it every year, but it really snuck up on me this year! Thankfully I have all of my shopping done. My birthday is also right around the corner (4 days after Christmas) and THAT has snuck up on me even more. I will officially be in my 30's.

Here are five outfit ideas for your Christmas day attire, whether you like to dress up, or keep it comfortable. I personally like a mixture of both. I definitely don't wear anything tight because there is usually a lot of eating going on.

Add an infinity scarf to a simple outfit to spice it up a little.

Or the infamous blanket scarf.

{four}
A jeweled sweatshirt - classy and comfy

Fun accessories
pumps // necklace // studs // earrings

I Love Weekends.

Remember when I used to work nothing but nights and weekends? I do not miss that at all. Because if I was still doing that, I would have missed out on so much fun this weekend!

Friday night, as I mentioned, we went to our supper club's 2nd Annual Tacky Christmas Sweater party. I kind of cheated and did not wear a tacky sweater, but I did wear a tree skirt as an actual skirt! And I wasn't the only one!

Saturday was a gorgeous day in Charleston, so Cameron and I, along with our friends Jen and Joe, grabbed an awesome lunch at The Southern General on Johns Island, then went for a boat ride! For lunch, I had the Cu-Banh Mi and it exceeded expectations, but I definitely want to go back and try the Sesame Shrimp sandwich.

We rode from Johns Island to the harbor, turned around and picked up some margaritas from the Crab Shack for our ride home. It was the perfect day for a quick booze cruise.

After we got off the boat, we met my parents and sister at a place called Craft Conundrum in West Ashley. It is a store/bar that sells hundreds of types of bottled craft beer, has 27 different types on tap, and also sells growlers for you to take home with you. Last night they had a food truck outside and a 2-man bluegrass band playing inside, as well.  It was everyone's first time (except for my sister, she's a beer nerd) and we'll definitely be back!

You can see my favorite beer, Holy City's Pluff Mud Porter, peaking out from behind the Jenga
Sunday was spent on King Street for Second Sunday with Emily, Caroline, and Lane. I love Second Sunday because they block off the streets to cars and there's much more room to walk around and browse the shops. Restaurants even set up tables on the street, which is awesome for people/dog watching.
I don't know why my hair looks so red in this picture...
Then Cameron finished off the weekend with dinner at his parents house. It's always nice when I don't have to cook! :)

Hope everyone's weekend was just the way they liked it! Whether that be busy of fun events, or nice and relaxed! So tell me, what did you do??

Friday Five. {Playing Catch Up}

Good morning! I noticed that I haven't posted about what's been going on in my life lately, so this Friday Five will be about focused on just that.

Let's go.

{one}
We changed up Thanksgiving a little bit this year. Usually we drive out to the country to hang with Cameron's extended family, scarf down some food, then high tail it to Summerville to eat another meal with my family. This year, we drove to Summerville about 2 hours before we actually ate so we could spend some quality time with my family, rather than being rushed.

{two}
The weekend after Thanksgiving, Brady turned 9! I posted this picture to Instagram and I'd be lying if I said I didn't cry right after. I just don't want my baby to get any older!!

{three}
The same day that Brady turned 9, the Gamecocks ended their five game winning streak against the Tigers. I decided to watch the game with all Gamecock fans, so I made Cameron snap this selfie with me before we parted ways. Oh well, there's always next year, right?!?

{four}
This year we hit up Michael's the day after Thanksgiving because all of their trees were 50% off. We've mentioned the past year or two that we need a tree for all of our miscellaneous ornaments. Our big Christmas tree is filled with gold and white ornaments so the misfits always got hidden in the back. Now they have their own tree to shine one and I love it! Those are the ornaments with the most meaning to them.

{five}
Tonight is our 2nd Annual Tacky Sweater Christmas Party and it just so happens that today is National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day! Last year's party was hilariously awesome and I can't wait for tonight!

Have a great weekend!

Linking Up: Stocking Stuffers.

Morning! Back again to link up with AprilZelleElise, and Katie for their Favorite Things Link Up and today we're sharing our stocking stuffer picks! All I do now is Cameron's stocking, which can sometimes be boring because all he wants are practical things, so this was fun to do a girly version of things us girls want but not necessarily need.

My favorite item on this list is the Bittermilk cocktail mix. They are based out of Charleston and I learned about them a couple of months ago because my co-worker's husband works for the company. There are six different flavors..the 6th being just released last week at Sean Brock's newest restaurant in Charleston, Minero

Linking Up: My 2014 Christmas Wishlist.

megan's christmas wishlist 2014

megan's christmas wishlist 2014

Today I'm linking up with April, Zelle, Elise, and Katie for their second annual Favorite Things link up party! I will be linking up with them today and the next 2 Tuesday's to share with you some of my favorite gifts to give and receive!

My wishlists every year tend to get more boring, in my opinion. Even though there are some fashion items on my list, I would much rather have items for our house, and yes, that does include an adorable, fuzzy, golden retriever. Brady needs a sibling.

Items on this wishlist include:
Anthropologie Glistened Geo mini skirt
Design Darling long tortoiseshell necklace
Kate Spade wallet in vivid snapdragon
Kendra Scott earrings
Golden retriever puppy - extra fluffy
West Elm mid-century tripod floor lamp
Tory Burch In Color book
Fat roll of cash for furniture

If you'd like to see what else is on my wishlist, you can view my Pinterest wishlist board here!
(I highly recommend you making one, too, and sending it to your friends and family. It makes getting exactly what you want so easy. I also love when my friends/family members have one because it makes shopping for them a breeze.)

Christmas at The Baker's.

Here's a sneak peek of what our house looks like this time of year...

The garland has some small LED lights from BB&B around them that are on timers to come on when it starts to get dark outside.

Our tree is decorated in gold and white ornaments.
Next year I want to get a smaller one for the dining room that we can put all of our "other" ornaments on.

A different angle of the tree.
Hmm the lights look a little top heavy, don't they?

Moving into the dining room..

The candle holders were a $5 Goodwill find! I LOVE them!

Nativity scene.

Simple.
Just how I like it...but I do plan on taking advantage of the after Christmas sales to add more decorations to my collection!

Ticky Tacky.

Although I had to work Saturday night, it was a great weekend! Tacky sweater party and lots of lounging on the couch thanks to rainy days and achy heads.

Caroline and Andy hosted this month's supper club and it was tacky Christmas sweater themed. Always a fun theme! I love seeing what everyone digs up and wears. Cameron's cousin was kind enough to let us borrow her sweaters. They were a hit, especially my sweet shoulder pads.

-2014 Christmas card? -

- Caroline's gorgeous Christmas mantle. -

-Henry's Uncle Si shirt and Ashton's shirt that said "All Mommy wants is a silent night." -

- Birdie getting in on the tacky action. Except she's cute. -

 - Cameron and Andy enjoying their White Elephant gifts. -

- Supper club girls. -

If you'd like a pair of matching red sweater leggings, you can find them here at Wally World.

Back tomorrow with a great recipe for the next rainy day!

Friday Five.

{one}
If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that something scary happened Wednesday evening!
I came home from work and while I was walking to get the mail, I could hear Brady barking an abnormal amount. When I got to the house, I peaked in the window and saw him walking from the back part of the house where our dining room, office, and back porch is. I figured there must be a cat or something in the back yard. Well, I was right. There was a MAN sitting in one of our chairs in our back yard!! I grabbed Brady, sprinted to my neighbors house and called the cops. Long story short, he lives on the street behind us and had surgery the day before. He had gone out of his house, got disoriented and couldn't find his way back. He said he became short of breath and needed somewhere to sit down. Why he chose our backyard with our loud dog barking at him, I have no idea. The cops stayed with him until the EMS arrived to take him back to the hospital and we decided not to file any trespassing charges against him. A scary situation, that just luckily just a misunderstanding and no one was hurt.
Needless to say, Brady got a well deserved bone that night.

{two}
Monday night, we celebrated Cameron's grandmother's 93rd birthday! We visited her in the rehabilitation facility that she's been staying at for the past couple of months and brought her cards, gifts, and a delicious lemon pound cake made by my MIL. She is one loved lady!
Excuse the lack of make-up. I lost my make-up bag over the weekend. :(
{three}
Our Christmas cards have arrived in our friends and families mailboxes and I am pretty obsessed with them. Once again, Minted comes through. Their quality is like non other. I went with the Gallery Classic postcards this year.
Blurry, sorry, but you get the picture.

{four}
Our good friends Jen and Joe made the move from Columbia to Charleston last weekend and we could not be more excited to have them here!

{five}
After dinner with Jen and Joe Wednesday, Cameron and I went and got our Christmas tree! After eating way too much, I wasn't really in the mood to decorate, but Cameron convinced me otherwise and I am so glad he did!
Another year with a sheet as a tree skirt. #fail  I even bought one from Target but it didn't work with the kind of tree stand we use. :(
 Have a great weekend!
We'll be watching the SEC and ACC championship games, attending a surprise brunch at the always yummy Fat Hen, and attending two baby showers! Love this time of year!
