What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving that there are only THREE more days until Christmas!

source

I'm loving that my birthday is in ONE week! (Not loving being in my late 20's though.)

I'm loving the fact that Cameron and I have concrete NYE plans! We met up with Amanda (finally!!) and Ran last night to buy our tickets for Triangle's NYE party. Only $40, super close to home and I don't have to wear a cocktail dress! HAT TRICK!

I'm loving that I have today off of work! Meeting up with Amanda for breakfast, picking up my last Christmas gift, getting my teeth cleaned, lunch with my momma and then home to clean and cook dinner!

I'm loving Cameron's parents for giving us (among other reasons) a set of pots and pans as a housewarming gift! MUCH needed and appreciated.
I'm loving the new show on NBC called "Perfect Couples" that premiered Monday night.

Birthday Wish List!

Since Christmas is pretty much here and I didn't really compile a wish list, I figured I'd get one together for my birthday, which happens to be 4 days after Christmas! The only good thing about having your birthday this close to Christmas is that whatever you don't get for Christmas, you can ask for for your birthday! That, or go out and buy it with any money you received as a Christmas gift! :)

Miscellaneous Monday.

  • The work Christmas party was lots of fun! The vibe is so different (fun!) when you hang out with co-workers outside of the office.
    Jessica & I

My boss, Kay, Myself and Jessica

    Cameron & I

  • 3 day work week - HOLLER!

  • I kind of decided to just stick with my hair color for the time being. I say kind of because it wasn't 100% by choice. Rebecca texted me Thursday asking if I could give her a ride to the airport on Friday, when I was scheduled to get my hair done. So I was a good friend, canceled my appointment and was at her house at 9am Friday morning to pick her up! I'm glad I did because while we chat on Gmail a few times a week, I hadn't seen her since the summer! I also saved the $60 I probably would have spent on my hair, which is not a bad thing at all!

  • Did you know that they sold "Puppy Chow" in the grocery stores now? No, not the kind you feed your actual puppy. The Chex kind! Their version is called "Muddy Buddies" and it's delish! Great if you don't have time to make it yourself. But if you do, here's the recipe from the Chex website:
Ingredients

9 cups Rice Chex®, Corn Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions

1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.

2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.

3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Living Room Update

The living room is almost complete! The only thing that we are still searching for is a rug that we both like! Like many people's first houses, we used some furniture and decorations we already had, and mixed it with new items, as well! The tv table from CSN and couch from Haverty's were the two main new purchases. Cameron already had a leather chair and love seat so we knew we wanted to buy things that would match those.

Ready for some before and after pics??

BEFORE

AFTER (ish)

Yes, that is a sheet over the window for the time being.

Don't get me started on the owl.

Please excuse the mess. As you can see, we still have some work to do, but I think it's a good start! :)
