Wedding Wednesday: March (AKA WEDDING MONTH) To-Do's!

Friday is wedding month!!
No more putting these things off until next month! This is it!!

As a reminder, below was my to-do list for the month of February:
-Purchase Cameron's wedding band - Check! Still waiting for the call to say it's ready to be picked up though.
-Purchase bridal portrait to display at reception - Check! And it's been received.
-Reserve the hotel room for the wedding night (yep, I'm cutting it close!) - Check!
-Purchase Cameron's wedding present(s) - Check! We decided to save the big gifts for our one year anniversary. I did get him something small and meaningful. :)
-Finalize cake - Check! So excited to see it and taste the deliciousness!
-Purchase fabric for lounge pillows - Check! Grandma Anna is making them and they should be ready by this weekend!
-Purchase random items like bins for koozies, something to put cards in, etc - Semi-check. Got the card bin. That's about it.
-Get signs to Shea for calligraphy - Nope.
-Stock the Bar party thrown for us by our wonderful wedding party! - Check! It was so fun! See recap of it here.

And from now until the wedding week before the wedding, I need to:
-Wrap all gifts.
-Cameron needs to order groomsmen gifts.
-Finish timeline. All I have to do is fill in the blanks for the times all of the vendors are arriving.
-Get signs to Shea. For real.
-Make signs for road.
-Purchase baskets for koozies and bins for pom poms. For real.
-Purchase more frames.
-Last shower is this weekend!
-Finalize all invoices / orders.

Is it weird that it still doesn't feel real? That it will actually be ME walking down the aisle to a handsome groom. MY handsome groom.

Wedding Wednesday: February To-Do's.

It's getting real, y'all!  Today marks the 2 month countdown! I am so ready for this thing to get here!!

Let's see if I got my list of January to-do's accomplished..
-Pre-marital counseling. Check! Our last session was supposed to be last night, but our Pastor forgot to put us on the calendar. :(
-Oyster roast in our honor. Check! See post here.
-Bridal shower. Check! See post here.
-Book honeymoon. Check! We didn't wind up using the original travel agent that we planned, which turned out better for us because we are using a girl who grew up in the same neighborhood as me and she has been SUPER helpful! Her company is called The Shady Umbrella if anyone is looking for a wonderful travel agent!
-Send out invitations. Check!!! Guests should have all received theirs by now! :)

I have a feeling February's list is going to be rather lengthy..
-Purchase Cameron's wedding band
-Purchase bridal portrait to display at reception
-Reserve the hotel room for the wedding night (yep, I'm cutting it close!)
-Purchase Cameron's wedding present(s)
-Finalize cake
-Purchase fabric for lounge pillows
-Purchase random items like bins for koozies, something to put cards in, etc
-Get signs to Shea for calligraphy
-Stock the Bar party thrown for us by our wonderful wedding party!

A lot of purchasing going on in February! Thank you tax returns! :)

Wedding Wednesday: January To-Do's.

Happy New Year, everyone! So excited for what 2013 holds for Cameron and I!

It was so nice to take a little break from blogging after Christmas. Between that, then celebrating my 29th birthday on Saturday and Sunday, and then celebrating New Years, we were exhausted last night! We decided to skip out on New Years dinner last night ..hope that doesn't mean we won't have our share of luck and money in 2013!

Last time I gave you an update, I was planning on doing the following things in December:

-continue working on putting together the invitations - got about 20 of these done and then realized I didn't put stamps on the RSVP envelopes..woooops. Going to buy stamps tomorrow or Friday so I can start over. :)
-purchase Cameron's wedding band - due to my car needing lots of service right before Christmas, this did not happen.
-stare at my bridal portrait pictures daily (my mom told me not to admit this haha) - check! :)
-attempt again to get our passports - check! Much easier this go-round.
-celebrate our engage-iversary! - check!
-start getting extremely anxious when we hit the 3 month countdown - check! My mind is constantly racing a mile a minute thinking of what I need to do or think about it. What am I missing?!?
Engagiversary sushi & champagne.

In January, this is the plan:
-Our first pre-marital counseling is next Tuesday.
-An oyster roast is being thrown for us next weekend by Cameron's mom's friends.
-The weekend after that (the 19th) is a bridal shower thrown by my seester, Grandma Anna, and Aunt Cindy.
-Book honeymoon...if travel agent ever gets back to us.
-Send out invitations the last week of January! Woohoo!!!

Wedding Wednesday: Updates.

Rather than posting my long checklist, I've decided to give a little summary of what I got accomplished in November and what I am planning on accomplishing in December!

The biggest thing that we checked off was our food tasting (it got bumped up a week)! And let me tell you - it was GOOD. We did not leave hungry and our guests will not leave the reception hungry either. I won't spill the beans on everything we're having, but you KNOW I've got to have my fried pickles! :)
Also in November, we received the pom poms in the mail that we'll be using for our send off and got even more excited about using them after seeing Amanda's wedding video because she used pom poms, too, and they looked like so much fun!

I also finished the shopping for all of my bridesmaids gifts!

In December I plan to:
-continue working on putting together the invitations
-purchase Cameron's wedding band
-stare at my bridal portrait pictures daily (my mom told me not to admit this haha)
-attempt again to get our passports
-celebrate our engage-iversary!
-start getting extremely anxious when we hit the 3 month countdown

So as you can see, I FINALLY decided on a florist! I met with THREE florists to make sure I was getting a fair price and to make sure my vision of what I wanted for my flowers was understood.

I wound up choosing..........

First Bloom!

I chose Debi not only because of her great prices (she has a studio at her home so she has little overhead), but because she asked lots of questions so that she could know exactly what I was looking for. She brought along multiple flowers books to our meeting incase I didn't know what a specific flower looked like (which in a lot of cases, I didn't), and even drew sketches of what certain arrangements would look like together! I felt really confident when I left that meeting. I also knew someone who used Debi for her own wedding and she raved about her experience working with her, so I knew I was on the right track!

Wedding Wednesday: Recent Pins + Updated Checklist.

It's my favorite (blog) day of the week! Wedding Wednesday! Today I'm showing you some of my favorite recent Pinterest finds.
Find me on Pinterest here.

How gorgeous is this sequin linen? It would be perfect for the cake table, but for $85 to rent, it's not looking like it's going to happen. :)

Hopefully you'll have someone to set up your reception space for you, rather than doing it yourself. An easy and great way to make sure things are set up as you'd like them to be is to take a picture of how you want it set up, tape it to the top of a clear bin, and place your items inside the bin. Voila! There should (hopefully) be no questions. :)

Love love love this bouquet.

Take a few minutes to do this daily.
