Wedding Wednesday: Advice for the Bride.

On Monday, I posted on Facebook that I was a wee bit majorly stressed. Lots of people came through to calm me down and offer some advice. So I thought it would be fun to share!

"Enjoy every moment. Only you will notice when things don't go as planned, I promise!! Everything will be perfect! Focus on your love!

"It's going to be more perfect than you imagine!"

"Have a drank!...its like a drink but stronger"

"Just smile and sit back and let it roll!"

"Wine is a wonderful thing."

"Just remember, all brides feel this way right before the wedding. Yours will be perfect and just enjoy your last few days before you start that new life with Cameron. Try not to stress as that will give your adorable face and smile permanent wrinkles Now, if that didn't scare you enough not to stress----then go and have a big glass of wine."

"Too blessed to be stressed!"

"Just think about the honeymoon."

"Take a deep breath Megan...it will be beautiful just like you!"

  2. Most importantly? Remember - you're in this for the marriage, not the wedding. Let the little things Saturday roll off your back. This is only the first day of the rest of your lives together :)

  4. Take it for what its worth - but there is no such thing as a perfect wedding day, but it will truly be perfect in its imperfections! We blew a transformer at our reception and the power was out for a while, but we just had an extended cocktail hour and then when it got back on, it was time to boogie!!

  8. All great advice!

    Mine is this:

Things will go wrong. They will! And it's all in how you deal with it. No bride ever regretted laughing off a wedding imperfection, but most brides probably regretted fussing over one. Enjoy it all, and take a look around you as much as you can to soak it all in.

Lastly, hand off your camera to a bridesmaid when you are getting ready if the photographer isn't there (same for rehearsal & rehearsal dinner). Those are fun pics!

  9. Great advice!! I remember hardly being able to sleep the night before my wedding with all the planning and details buzzing around in my head. Of course small things happened but we just went with it. It was the best day ever!! I'd re-live my wedding day over and over again. It just goes by too fast. The honeymoon was THE BEST! I slept so well not having to think about anything, but to enjoy it!

  11. I'm so excited for you! And I would even go a step further and say once it all starts, not even you will notice things not going as planned. No one else will notice, and neither will you. Enjoy the big picture and the love of those surrounding you. It's the most amazing night!

  14. Let me just say, that I got married at the Island House two weeks ago, and everything was better than I ever could have imagined. I have no doubt you will have a fabulous wedding and so much fun! I was feeling way stressed ahead of time too, but somehow things just magically come together, I promise haha. And all of the above advice is true, so take a deep breath and HAVE FUN!
