Home Decorating Question!

The rug we ordered from Ballard Designs FINALLY came in yesterday.

But do you think it's too small or just right?

The room is pretty big and we wanted to cover up the ugly parquet floor, but I don't want the rug to be TOO big either.

HELP!

Wedding Wednesday (Continued): Bachelorette Party - Day Two.

Not gonna lie, most of Day Two was spent in recovery mode. I was hurtin' from Friday night.

PS - Most of you commented on the panty wreath from yesterday that Emily made.  I can't find an actual tutorial on it, but it looked like she just bought one of those straw wreaths with the plastic still on it and tied each panty on it with a piece of ribbon.

We made our way to the beach finally after Shelby & Frankie cooked a yummy breakfast for everyone. The beach was HOT. Once I got into the water I started to feel better. The water there is so much clearer and doesn't make you feel all sticky when you get out! Some of us eventually decided to go up to the room and cool off / take naps to get ready for Saturday night. That's where this pic came from that my sister took. I felt 80% better after that nap!

The theme of Saturday night? NEON!!!!

Everyone looked so good! I, on the other hand, looked like I should be standing on a street corner. Meh, oh well. It's only your bachelorette party once right??
We ate dinner at Tower 7, which is a Baja Mexican restaurant. While we waited 1.5 hours for our table, we took lots of pics.
My sister (left) made my sash! Isn't is cute?!?

Supper Club ladies.
Cameron wanted some chips, salsa & a Corona.
After dinner, we hopped in some vans and took a 20 minute ride to downtown Wilmington to do some more bar hopping.
The owner of the first bar we went to sent over a bottle of champage! Thanks bud!
We make neon look GOOD.
Leslie was the only mom on the trip. She definitely let loose while her hubby was watching Emilee. :)
The next (and last) place we went to was Level 5. It's called Level 5 because it's literally on the fifth floor of the building. And you don't take an elevator to get up there. My legs were burning halfway through the trek. This was my favorite bar we went to when we went on Katie's bach, so I knew I wanted this place to be our main stop.
Apparently this hat has something to do with 30 Shades of Grey. But since I still haven't read it, I had no clue.

"Jenny" tried to come along on the trip since the real Jenny couldn't, but that boinker got my zip code wrong and she didn't get delivered on time! :(

Thanks again to all of my girls who made my weekend so special and FUN!

Wedding Wednesday: Bachelorette Party Recap! Day One.

It's Wednesday and I think I'm FINALLY fully recovered from my bachelorette party on Wrightsville Beach last weekend.

My sweet future sister-in-law sent along this goody basket of my favorite snacks and magazines since she couldn't make the trip. The basket included salt & vinegar chips, trail mix, slim jim's, candy, Bud Light Lime-a-Ritas, cookies, moon pies and PICKLES!

Panty wreath! I seriously do not have to go shopping for underwear for a long, long while.
As a thank you for everyone that came, I ordered monogrammed cups from Stuart Wallace Designs.

Since people were arriving at all different times, we decided to go to the condo pool rather than the beach.
Cameron got some sun, too.
After the pool, we all went upstairs to take showers and get ready for the lingerie shower and some games!

We played "Who Knows the Bachelorette the Best?"
And "Who Gave Me These Panties?"
Some people got the memo.....others...didn't. haha :)
Then the plan was just to have a low key night at the beach bars....but that's just like saying, "we'll only stay for one drink!" Yeah, it never happens.

Here comes the squinty eyes!
Stayed tuned for Day Two.....

Tasty Tuesday: Stuffed Tomatoes with Herbed Chicken and Orzo Salad.

I made this for dinner last night and it was very light, yet filling. Cameron even liked it! Had a lot of the orzo chicken salad leftover, too, so we'll be eating that for lunch! Enjoy!

Stuffed Tomatoes with Herbed Chicken and Orzo Salad
Photo and recipe found here.

Ingredients
3-4 medium to large tomatoes (Beefsteak, heirloom, Shady Lady, etc. all work)
1 c cooked orzo
1 c cooked chicken, cut into bite-size cubes
1/4 c finely chopped herbs of your choice (any combo of parsley, cilantro, basil, chives will be lovely)
1/4 c finely chopped scallions
1/2 c vinaigrette (recipe to follow) or bottled vinaigrette dressing of your choice

Simple Vinaigrette
1/4 c olive oil
1/3 c white wine vinegar
2 cloves of garlic, minced
Salt & pepper to taste

1. If you’re making the vinaigrette, whisk together the last four ingredients in a bowl until mixed thoroughly. Set aside.

2. In a separate bowl, combine the orzo, cubed chicken, chopped herbs & scallions and mix well. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for about 10-15 minutes, to allow the flavors to meld together.

3. In the meantime, slice off the top of each tomato (about 1″-1.5″ should suffice). Using a spoon, carefully scoop out the flesh, seed pockets and juice, making sure not to break the sides of the tomato. (If the tomato innards are being uncooperative, feel free to use a knife to help you loosen it out. Just be careful not to cut through the sides.) Spoon generous amounts of the chicken & orzo salad into each tomato, top with extra chopped cilantro or basil, and enjoy!

T'was a Month Before Football...

T’was a month before football, and all through the South,
Rabid fans everywhere were running their mouth.
The schedules were set for the season with care,
In hopes that college playoffs soon would be there.

The fans were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of championships danced in their heads.
Saban with a new trophy, wish I had one too!
We’re patiently waiting for the season to ensue…

When out on the field there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see the Mad Hatter.
Away to Media Days we flew like a flash,
Reminiscing how
Petrino left with a crash.

Highlight of the offseason, which passes so slow.
At least now there’s only a month left to go!
When what to my wondering eyes it appears,
But two new teams in a conference of peers!

With the old Mike Slive, so lively and quick,
We know this year, he’s a damn good commish.
More rapid than others his conference they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

“Now Wildcats! Now Rebels! Now Gamecocks and Gators!
On Mizzou, On TAMU! Don’t listen to haters!
To the top of the world, we’re having a ball!
S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C to all!”

As the media tweeted and lifted hands to the sky,
Vandy’s coach stepped up,
looking so fly.
Shouts from the podium, “
Anchor Down” he spew,
Steve Spurrier was laughing, Will Muschamp was too.

Mark Richt, in a twinkling, I heard he dismissed,The next Herschel Walker from Georgia’s big list.
As I drew my head, and was turning around,
Down the hall Hugh Freeze came with a bound.

He had seen the billboards, but was slightly confused,
It was Mullen’s state, Houston Nutt was abused.
At least things were different for those on the Plains,
Chizik won it all aboard the Cam Newton train!

Down on the Bayou, there’s an Aussie that punts,
And a Honey Badger who takes what he wants!
The Aggies and Mizzou are new to the scene,
They’ll be
winning, but more like Charlie Sheen.

In Fayettenam, the Hogs are waiting their turn,
To see which DB’s Tyler Wilson will burn.
Derek and Joker can enjoy the hot seat,
How many teams do you think they will beat?

Drama last year was LSU fighting the bar,
Bray started us early
throwing bottles at a car.
That’s life in this conference, I readily admit,
Get ‘em on the field, and let’s see these boys hit!

National Championships are easier than the SEC,
If you don’t believe, you can
just ask Steve.
So now we sit and wait for the veterans to report,
And hope they are ready to hold down the fort.

Will the streak of six straight be ending this year?
Hell no! Start the tailgate and be ready to cheer!
Winning every championship is what it’s all about,
Here’s wishing every Saturday was a Saturday Down South.

Little diddy found here.

29 days until Gamecock kickoff!
