Thursday's [Quick] Thoughts.

-Saturday we had our first official Sandbar Sunday of 2016! Not quite warm enough to take those cover ups off, but sunny enough to need 30 SPF! This was Gus' second time on the boat, but first full day and he did great! Loving the pic below that my friend Caroline took.

-Somehow I rallied Sunday night and stayed up way past my bedtime to see Will Hoge at the Pour House. This show was different than the other shows I've seen of his. This one was an all acoustic show! While I prefer to see him with his full band, this was a nice change.

-This weekend we'll spend cleaning the house and getting the yard ready for our 4th annual Mother's Day brunch

-Also around the house, Cameron is determined to give our screened porch a face lift prior to Mother's Day. We've ordered new patio furniture, and he is in the process of re-screening and painting the porch. After that, he wants to put outdoor tile down over the concrete floor. He's got a lot of work to do!

-This post was pretty lame and short, but that's all I've got for now! post signature

Memorial Day Weekend.

Whew, I forgot how fun, yet exhausting 3 day weekends were! Especially when they're spent in the sun all day, every day.

We started on the boat, leaving from Johns Island and headed towards Kiawah. It was super windy (which continued all weekend), so after a few hours on the boat we headed back to the pool. This picture cracks me up because it looks like Andy and Cameron are checking out some babes on the beach.

It was Lane's first time on the boat and it's safe to say he loved it!

Later that night we celebrated both of our niece's birthdays! Can't believe how grown up they are becoming!

On Sunday, we acted like we were in college again and made the bumpy trek to Morris Island. The filter Molly used on this pic makes it look like we were in the Caribbean though!

Sunday morning I actually woke up without a hangover and got some things done around the house. That afternoon, we went back out to Cameron's parent's pool and brought Brady with us. Poor guy had been by himself in the house the past two days for 10+ hours! He needed some play time, too.

Got to hang out with our adorable nieces (and wonderful sister-in-laws!) again. Marin, one of my nieces, snapped this picture of our youngest niece, Arden, and Cameron. Pretty sure my heart officially melted.

Now it's past my bedtime and I'm having a hard time putting together sentences. Goodnight!

I Love Weekends.

Remember when I used to work nothing but nights and weekends? I do not miss that at all. Because if I was still doing that, I would have missed out on so much fun this weekend!

Friday night, as I mentioned, we went to our supper club's 2nd Annual Tacky Christmas Sweater party. I kind of cheated and did not wear a tacky sweater, but I did wear a tree skirt as an actual skirt! And I wasn't the only one!

Saturday was a gorgeous day in Charleston, so Cameron and I, along with our friends Jen and Joe, grabbed an awesome lunch at The Southern General on Johns Island, then went for a boat ride! For lunch, I had the Cu-Banh Mi and it exceeded expectations, but I definitely want to go back and try the Sesame Shrimp sandwich.

We rode from Johns Island to the harbor, turned around and picked up some margaritas from the Crab Shack for our ride home. It was the perfect day for a quick booze cruise.

After we got off the boat, we met my parents and sister at a place called Craft Conundrum in West Ashley. It is a store/bar that sells hundreds of types of bottled craft beer, has 27 different types on tap, and also sells growlers for you to take home with you. Last night they had a food truck outside and a 2-man bluegrass band playing inside, as well.  It was everyone's first time (except for my sister, she's a beer nerd) and we'll definitely be back!

You can see my favorite beer, Holy City's Pluff Mud Porter, peaking out from behind the Jenga
Sunday was spent on King Street for Second Sunday with Emily, Caroline, and Lane. I love Second Sunday because they block off the streets to cars and there's much more room to walk around and browse the shops. Restaurants even set up tables on the street, which is awesome for people/dog watching.
I don't know why my hair looks so red in this picture...
Then Cameron finished off the weekend with dinner at his parents house. It's always nice when I don't have to cook! :)

Hope everyone's weekend was just the way they liked it! Whether that be busy of fun events, or nice and relaxed! So tell me, what did you do??

Friday Five!

Hello, Happy Friday, and Happy Halloween!

It's been a while, but let's catch up on five fun things that have been going on since you last heard from me.

{one}
Did you know gorgeous flowers grew in volcanoes? Call me naive, but I did not know that. Until The Bouqs Company contacted me wanted to send me fresh flowers! Now I don't know any girl (other than one with horrible allergies) that would turn that offer down.

Bouqs is an online company that ships beautiful fresh flowers straight from a volcano in South America or the coast of California straight to your home - for FREE! The shipping is free, that is, not the flowers. The bouquets from South America come in 3 different sizes, as well, ranging in price from $40 - $70.

I ordered the Desperado bouquet and was so excited to open them when I arrived to work. I opened the package and followed the instructions on the box, which told me how to get the maximum life out of my bouquet. Ones you may or may not already know - cut the stems at an angle, discard any leaves lower than the water level as well as any "guard" petals, and keep in clean water, out of direct sunlight.

Very, very impressed with this company and will definitely be using them again.

Want to try Bouqs? Register on their site and you'll receive a 15% discount for your first order along with their already free shipping!

I was so impressed my flowers and this company that I sent a bouquet of pink ranunculus to my friend, Jenny, for her 30th birthday! She received them on the 17th and she texted me last night saying that they were still blooming!

Do you have an extra second to help my stinky dog?
I entered him in a costume contest through his vet's Facebook page and he desperately needs your votes! The winning pup gets a day at the spa and just trust me when I say, he needs it.

You don't have to "like" the FB page or even register to be able to vote, you just literally click this link and then click the box next to his picture! So easy and he needs all of the help he can get because he's losing by like 30 votes! Thanks, friends!

Last week, Cameron had to go to Charlotte for a business meeting. Luckily my new job is super flexible so I was able to join him! We left a little after lunch time on Wednesday and came back Thursday after lunch.

Wednesday night, we ate at Cowfish, which we had never been to before. It is a burger-sushi fusion restaurant, with a humongous menu. We started with the ahi tuna nachos, which were flavorul, light and very satisfying. Cameron ordered a "side" spinach salad, which was HUGE, and also ordered a roll off of the "Burgushi" menu. The Doug's Filet Roll which is basically a standard sushi roll filled with avocado, crab, and cream cheese, and is then topped with thinly sliced filet mignon. Yum! I ordered one of the bento boxes, which lets you try a little of everything. It came with a mini burger of the day (jalepeno cream cheese and fried jalepeno slices), 4 pieces of sushi, Thai cucumbers, edamame, and french fries. Needless to say, we were stuffed and said no thank you to dessert.

Thursday morning, Cameron went to his meeting and I went browsing around the Southpark Mall (first time there!). I only had two hours to look around, and I didn't even put a dent in going to some of the stores that I wanted to. And actually the only thing that I bought for myself was a make-up brush...which I'm returning because I wound up not liking it. I did get some Christmas shopping done though!

Once Cameron was done with his meeting, we met up with Beth and April for lunch at Bricktops. Another amazing restaurant! I ordered a salad with seared tuna on it, as I am on an obvious tuna kick. It's always so great to see these girls!

Two weekends ago, Cameron and I co-hosted a floating engagement party for our friends, Jenny and Justin, who are getting married in June! The weather was absolutely perfect that evening. We kept it simple with wings, turkey wraps, crab dip, and a cheese platter, along with beer and wine. Good times were had by all...and some more than others. :)

{five}
Last Saturday we celebrated my Aunt Cindy's 50th birthday at her and my uncle's house. We celebrated with her three favorite things: Carolina football (even though we lost), Ã©touffée, and family/friends.

Can't wait to see everyone's Halloween costumes!

Memorial Day Weekend.

I finally got to enjoy a holiday weekend! Working in the hospitality and event industry, that doesn't happen often. But making the schedule for all of the employees does have its perks.

Here's how it was enjoyed..

On Saturday, we had a couple of friends over to Cameron's parents' pool.
Thank you, Kathryn, for the picture. :)
Lane's first time in the pool!

After the pool, I went and helped set up for a Sip n See that I co-hosted for Kate and Grant's brand new baby, Taylor! It was so fun celebrating her, especially since she is the only girl in our group of friends' babies!

The boy mom's.

Before I knew it, I (voluntarily) had a baby strapped to me!
Lane hung out like this for about 30 minutes before he fell asleep.

Top left is the proud daddy of Taylor, Grant.

Spent Sunday out at Morris Island

Monday, it was back to work.

Wonnnnderful Weekend.

I am so sad to see Monday again because we had the best weekend!

Friday after work my parents stopped by since they were in the area and we wound up grilling burgers and eating outside on the porch since the weather was so awesome. Later that night, we went to see Zero Dark Thirty with Emily & David. Great movie!

Saturday I woke up, had a gym date with Emily, went with my sister to try on her bridesmaid dress, ate lunch outside with her and Cameron, sat outside in the backyard with Emily and our pups and drank a beer, then went to our first official wedding party thrown for us! More details to come on Wedding Wednesday. :)

Sunday was one of those unplanned, super fun days. The temps were supposed to be in the upper 70's so we all decided to take the boats out to the sandbar, marking it the first official Sandbar Sunday of 2013!
Around 5pm, the boats looked like this, which meant we would all be there for a while longer waiting on the tide to come back in. Which also meant that we had come up with some news ways to entertain ourselves.

So there was some limbo..
And some javelin throwing..
And finally, some group pics.

We ended the day with this beautiful sunset!
