Memorial Day Weekend 2017

Woo, long holiday weekends are exhausting with babies! Always on the go, basically living out of the diaper bag all weekend. We had originally planned on spending the weekend in Georgetown, SC for a fishing tournament (Cam would fish, the boys and I would hang out with the girls in the family) but due to the windy weather forecast, the boat decided not to go.

Since Cameron and I had already taken that Friday off from work, we decided to send the boys to daycare and spend the day, just the two of us (and Gus), on the boat! We cruised up to the Bohicket Marina, ate a yummy lunch at Lokal, and cruised back. While Cameron was cleaning the boat, I went and picked the boys up from daycare, and we hung out with my inlaws until dinner time.

Saturday we packed up the truck (so.much.stuff.) and headed to the beach for the first time! I was kind of nervous about their first trip, as the unknown is the worst part! We tried to time it so that they would sleep on the 45 minute drive, and then be in good moods once we got to the beach. Check! They played in the water, tasted the first of many handfuls of sand, and even snoozed for about an hour in the stroller.

On Sunday, we packed the truck back up and headed to Little Oak Island, which is right before Folly Beach. Our friend's parents have a house there and we just hung out all day! The boys swang, played in the kiddie pool, took an hour long nap in unfamiliar territory (score!), and played with new toys.

Got to meet Aunt KA for the first time!
Oh, the stories she could tell the boys about their mommy!

Monday we hung out around the house for the first half of the day, then went out to Johns Island to Cameron's parent's house. His parents were kind enough to invite my parents and sister over, and Cameron's Uncle Thom and Aunt Gretchen came over, also. We enjoyed a yummy dinner outside by the pool and lots of giggles!

It was a great holiday weekend, and I look forward to the next one! Be back soon(ish) for their 7 month update!

Well, Tropical Storm Bonnie decided to rain on everyone's parade (literally) during the long holiday weekend, so any plans of soaking up some sun were canceled. But we still managed to spend time with a lot of friends and take advantage of rainy day laziness.

-Saturday was spent day drinking at Home Team BBQ, followed by a cat nap. Once refreshed we went to the Rifle Club for a few rounds of bowling and unlimited popcorn (my favorite part).

-Sunday we took advantage of the nasty weather and were couch potatoes most of the day. Those days are just needed every now and then. We did make it out of the house and over to Cameron's parents' for dinner that night!

-Monday we dropped Cameron's parents off at the cruise terminal for their 10 day cruise, and we hit up the outlets for some sales! Cameron goes shopping once, maybe twice a year, so this was the perfect time for him to add some staples to his wardrobe. More clothes for Cameron = more time in between loads of laundry for me! I picked up these shorts (third pair..love them!), t-shirt dress, and a maxi dress.

Also, hi to my new friend from Raleigh who came up to me on Kiawah Friday! I definitely don't consider myself to be a "big time blogger" so it meant a lot that you told me you missed my blog! Definitely motivates me to post more! :)

Memorial Day Weekend.

Whew, I forgot how fun, yet exhausting 3 day weekends were! Especially when they're spent in the sun all day, every day.

We started on the boat, leaving from Johns Island and headed towards Kiawah. It was super windy (which continued all weekend), so after a few hours on the boat we headed back to the pool. This picture cracks me up because it looks like Andy and Cameron are checking out some babes on the beach.

It was Lane's first time on the boat and it's safe to say he loved it!

Later that night we celebrated both of our niece's birthdays! Can't believe how grown up they are becoming!

On Sunday, we acted like we were in college again and made the bumpy trek to Morris Island. The filter Molly used on this pic makes it look like we were in the Caribbean though!

Sunday morning I actually woke up without a hangover and got some things done around the house. That afternoon, we went back out to Cameron's parent's pool and brought Brady with us. Poor guy had been by himself in the house the past two days for 10+ hours! He needed some play time, too.

Got to hang out with our adorable nieces (and wonderful sister-in-laws!) again. Marin, one of my nieces, snapped this picture of our youngest niece, Arden, and Cameron. Pretty sure my heart officially melted.

Now it's past my bedtime and I'm having a hard time putting together sentences. Goodnight!

Memorial Day Weekend.

I finally got to enjoy a holiday weekend! Working in the hospitality and event industry, that doesn't happen often. But making the schedule for all of the employees does have its perks.

Here's how it was enjoyed..

On Saturday, we had a couple of friends over to Cameron's parents' pool.
Thank you, Kathryn, for the picture. :)
Lane's first time in the pool!

After the pool, I went and helped set up for a Sip n See that I co-hosted for Kate and Grant's brand new baby, Taylor! It was so fun celebrating her, especially since she is the only girl in our group of friends' babies!

The boy mom's.

Before I knew it, I (voluntarily) had a baby strapped to me!
Lane hung out like this for about 30 minutes before he fell asleep.

Monday, it was back to work.

Weekend, New App & Giveaway Winner!

Happy Memorial Day!

While I am stuck working today, surprisingly, I had both Saturday and Sunday off. I took full advantage and had such a fun weekend!

Saturday we took the boat out with Emily & David and met a group of friends at Morris Island.

Yes, that would be Cameron wearing towel kilt.

The plans for Sunday were originally to go back to Morris Island during the day and then go to a cookout on Goat Island but thanks to the tropical storm that decided to head out way, we decided that may not be a fun ride on the boat. We had no set plans all day and it turned out to be a really good day anyway!

The day was spent with Jason, Jessica and Jacob, and included:
-Lunch at Smokey Oak
-Multiple drinks at the James Island Yacht Club
-Pool party and cookout
-Multiple margarita's on Jason's parents' amazing back porch
-Back to Smokey Oak for one (or two) more drink.

While we were at the pool party / cookout seen in the photos above, we were introduced to a new (to us) app that was pretty hilarious and kept us entertained for almost an hour.

If you're not easily offended, download this app. Some of the captions were a bit vulgar.
