Renovated Guest Bathroom.

Cameron and I are always looking around to see if there are any houses on the market that we love and unfortunately, there aren't any out there in the area that we want to be in. We debated on building, but decided to hold off on that for now, as we couldn't find any lots that we loved either. So plan C was to renovate more of our house since we plan to be there for another 4-5 years. The first stop was the bathroom. We originally got a bid from a contractor, but decided we could save a lot of money by doing most of the work ourselves. I'm very lucky to have a handy husband! The only person we had to hire was a plumber because we were adding an additional sink.

Some photos that I used for inspiration...
The first picture stood out to me because the wall color was very similar to what was already in the bathroom, it had a glass front linen cabinet

The second picture I just loved the glass front linen cabinet that seems to have been re-purposed from a china cabinet or a similar type of furniture.

Cameron tearing out the old cabinets

Cabinets and old (huge) mirror gone)

Drywall removed for new plumbing and electrical to be installed. New tile and toilet installed.

Floor tile - Paletto Tile Distributors // Vanity - Wayfair// Faucets - Overstock //
Mirrors - Target // Lighting - One Kings Lane // Runner - World Market //
Paint color - Sherwin Williams Sea Salt lightened by 25% // Cabinet - Nadeau

I still need to order art for the walls, decide if I want to hang anything on the window, and eventually change out the hardware on the vanity.

I'm so happy with how it turned out though! Big shoutout to Cameron for installing all of the electrical, replacing the toilet, and laying the tile! And also dealing with my indecisiveness.

On to the next project!

Bathroom Design HELP!

Things are slowwwly but surely coming together with the house. Piece by piece. I realllllly want to post lots of pictures, but am told I should wait until it's a little more put together and we're not sleeping on a mattress on the floor (true story).

Today's topic is the hall bath.

Let me just start by showing you some pics and you'll be able to tell why I'm so lost on what to do. As always, these are crappy Blackberry pics.

Outside looking in.

Masssssssive counter top!!

Inside looking out.

So, as you can see, that is one long counter top. With only one sink(?). The paint color is Martha Stewart for Sherwin Williams Milk Pail, which is now discontinued. This is the main color in Emily's house so she had some left over that I used to match. Thanks to her for letting me copy! :) The counter top is a gray speckled color. We also plan on adding white bead board to the bottom part of the walls down the road.

Questions:

-Should I paint the cabinets? If so, what color? My original plan was to paint them white, but now I'm scared it would be TOO much white.

-What the heck should I do with all of the counter top space? Like I've mentioned before, I'm a fan of all things nautical so I'd like to incorporate some of that into the bathroom. Any links with cute accessories or ideas would be very helpful!

-For the bath mat & towels, what color should I go for? Once again, I was thinking white, but it's probably overkill. Tan?

All suggestions are welcome! Thanks for your help!!
