Cameron's 30th Birthday Bash.

Last Friday was Cameron's 30th birthday. Yes, I failed to post one of those sappy birthday posts. Truth is, I had the day off and I was running around town like a crazy person getting errands done.

Cameron definitely celebrated his 30th birthday right.

Friday night, his parents took us out to dinner to Magnolia's. We started with the pimento cheese, which was amazing. I ordered the shellfish over grits, which had scallops, shrimp, and lobster over creamy grits topped with lobster sauce and crispy spinach. Sorry for making your mouth water so early in the morning.

Saturday was the big party day! His mom and I had been planning the party for about 2 months, so we were very excited it was finally here. It was not a surprise party, but I left a big detail out when I told him about it - the Baja Burrito food truck! Hiring a food truck was the best idea - they do all of the work! The food was amazing and I heard so many compliments. I got to pick 4 burritos and 4 tacos to put on the menu. Guests got to pick either 1 burrito or 3 tacos. The burritos were HUGE - Cameron's stepdad weighed his and it weighed a pound and a half!

The California was on point with the carne asada, guac, cheese, salsa verde, and french fries all rolled into one massive burrito.

If you've never tried the Kirkland brand margaritas from Costco, please do. I had so many people asking me if I made the margaritas myself. Best part? They're only $10 a handle!

The surprise birthday tiger! (aka Cameron's sister in law, Nancy)

On Sunday, we went to Summerville to celebrate all 5 June birthdays in our family.
Sister's boyfriend, sister, Cameron, mom,  and Grandaddy Smitty
We stuffed ourselves with blue cheese burgers, pasta salad, homemade peach ice cream, and a burger cake!

Needless to say, my diet started yesterday today.
Hope you had a great birthday, Cameron!

Five Years Ago Today...

Five years ago today I met my husband.

Florida stomped South Carolina that night so I went to Johnson's to drown my sorrows and meet a cute guy.

The next day, he took me skeet shooting and stole my heart.

 I love you, Cameron!

I could not have hand picked a more perfect match for myself. Oh wait, I did hand pick him. :)

Happy Birthday, Cameron!

Twenty-seven was a great year for you!

-We went on our first "real" vacation together - a cruise!

-You received not one, but TWO Masters degrees!

-You passed your PE (Professional Engineer) exam and expanded your collection of diplomas / certificates for your office.

-And you asked a pretty amazing girl to spend the rest of her life with you. ;)

I hope year 28 is even better than all of the rest! I love you so much!

Exciting News All Around + Our Sunday!

Last Wednesday, I got a very exciting text from Cameron saying, "I passed!" That's right, my fiance is now a certified Professional Engineer. I had no doubt in my mind that he would pass, but it was definitely a big relief to find out.
Certificate addition about his Clemson diploma.
To celebrate, we went and ate at Cork in Park Circle. It.was.so.good.

We split the Dynamite shrimp appetizer, which is similar to Bonefish Grill's Bang Bang Shrimp, and quickly devoured it.

He ordered the salmon special, which was super tasty...and I don't ever do salmon.

I ordered the "Buttered Crumb Fresh Catch of the Day," which was wreck fish.
It consisted of a "parmesan panko crust,  grilled romaine heart with balsamic reduction, blistered grape tomatoes, olive and herb gremolata." I LOVED it.

Wish I would have taken pictures but the tables in the section we were in were SUPER close together and I would have looked like a weirdo.

I did take one pic that night when I was cuddled up on the couch to my super smart man. :)

The other exciting news is that we're getting to hop on the CSA train through Cameron's work! The amount will be prorated because it started last month and we're going to split it with our friends, Caroline and Andy! We got an email earlier this morning saying that this week we'll be receiving corn, squash, zuchinni, peppers, green/pink tomatoes, potatoes, onions, peaches, cucumbers, and maybe snap beans.

Most excited about the green tomatoes!

I had work events Friday & Saturday night so I was more than pumped to spend all day Sunday relaxing on the boat and in the pool.

Where will will be getting married in 299 days!
Hope yall had a great weekend!!

Thursday's Thoughts.

-Valentine's Day was a great day! Cameron surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of stargazer lilies!

Cameron's Valentine's presents from me:
That's a big statement from me. :)
Man bouquet with cigars and mini bottles!
And because my Daddy is so cute, I wanted to show off what he did for my Mom..

-This past Saturday, Emily and I drove to Columbia to celebrate Jen & Joe! They are getting married in April and are one of my favorite couples! It was the first time I've seen this group of friends since getting engaged so that was exciting, too. :)

-Cameron's parents stopped by after church last Sunday and surprised Cameron with getting his diplomas framed! They really tied the office together and look great! He's a smarty and has three. He was also kind enough to tell me that I could hang my diploma in the laundry room since that's "my room." That guy...

-Got my tax return deposited into my account yesterday! Holler! Got my car worked on, bought a pretty dress for one of the many weddings this year that I'll be attending and put some in savings!

Hope you all have a great Thursday! It's almost the weekend!
