Friday Five!

Hello, Happy Friday, and Happy Halloween!

It's been a while, but let's catch up on five fun things that have been going on since you last heard from me.

{one}
Did you know gorgeous flowers grew in volcanoes? Call me naive, but I did not know that. Until The Bouqs Company contacted me wanted to send me fresh flowers! Now I don't know any girl (other than one with horrible allergies) that would turn that offer down.

Bouqs is an online company that ships beautiful fresh flowers straight from a volcano in South America or the coast of California straight to your home - for FREE! The shipping is free, that is, not the flowers. The bouquets from South America come in 3 different sizes, as well, ranging in price from $40 - $70.

I ordered the Desperado bouquet and was so excited to open them when I arrived to work. I opened the package and followed the instructions on the box, which told me how to get the maximum life out of my bouquet. Ones you may or may not already know - cut the stems at an angle, discard any leaves lower than the water level as well as any "guard" petals, and keep in clean water, out of direct sunlight.

Very, very impressed with this company and will definitely be using them again.

Want to try Bouqs? Register on their site and you'll receive a 15% discount for your first order along with their already free shipping!

I was so impressed my flowers and this company that I sent a bouquet of pink ranunculus to my friend, Jenny, for her 30th birthday! She received them on the 17th and she texted me last night saying that they were still blooming!

Do you have an extra second to help my stinky dog?
I entered him in a costume contest through his vet's Facebook page and he desperately needs your votes! The winning pup gets a day at the spa and just trust me when I say, he needs it.

You don't have to "like" the FB page or even register to be able to vote, you just literally click this link and then click the box next to his picture! So easy and he needs all of the help he can get because he's losing by like 30 votes! Thanks, friends!

Last week, Cameron had to go to Charlotte for a business meeting. Luckily my new job is super flexible so I was able to join him! We left a little after lunch time on Wednesday and came back Thursday after lunch.

Wednesday night, we ate at Cowfish, which we had never been to before. It is a burger-sushi fusion restaurant, with a humongous menu. We started with the ahi tuna nachos, which were flavorul, light and very satisfying. Cameron ordered a "side" spinach salad, which was HUGE, and also ordered a roll off of the "Burgushi" menu. The Doug's Filet Roll which is basically a standard sushi roll filled with avocado, crab, and cream cheese, and is then topped with thinly sliced filet mignon. Yum! I ordered one of the bento boxes, which lets you try a little of everything. It came with a mini burger of the day (jalepeno cream cheese and fried jalepeno slices), 4 pieces of sushi, Thai cucumbers, edamame, and french fries. Needless to say, we were stuffed and said no thank you to dessert.

Thursday morning, Cameron went to his meeting and I went browsing around the Southpark Mall (first time there!). I only had two hours to look around, and I didn't even put a dent in going to some of the stores that I wanted to. And actually the only thing that I bought for myself was a make-up brush...which I'm returning because I wound up not liking it. I did get some Christmas shopping done though!

Once Cameron was done with his meeting, we met up with Beth and April for lunch at Bricktops. Another amazing restaurant! I ordered a salad with seared tuna on it, as I am on an obvious tuna kick. It's always so great to see these girls!

Two weekends ago, Cameron and I co-hosted a floating engagement party for our friends, Jenny and Justin, who are getting married in June! The weather was absolutely perfect that evening. We kept it simple with wings, turkey wraps, crab dip, and a cheese platter, along with beer and wine. Good times were had by all...and some more than others. :)

Last Saturday we celebrated my Aunt Cindy's 50th birthday at her and my uncle's house. We celebrated with her three favorite things: Carolina football (even though we lost), étouffée, and family/friends.

Can't wait to see everyone's Halloween costumes!

A Weekend Full of Celebrations {Engagement + Birthdays}.

This weekend was jam-packed with celebrations!

Friday, we crammed 5 people into a Honda Accord and made the 4.5 hour drive to Athens, GA. One of Cameron's good friends, Justin, proposed to his girlfriend, Jenny, and we were all there to surprise her afterwards! He proposed to her on campus (they both went to Georgia, but didn't meet until after college) and we, along with their friends and family, were waiting in their hotel room with some champagne! Needless to say, Jenny was SUPER surprised.

Since I've known about this little trip for a couple of months, I ordered a shirt for Jenny to wear to Georgia's Spring Game!

We continued the celebration with dinner at Porterhouse Grill {the filet with blue cheese butter - amazing!!}, then onto the bars.

Celebrated until 4am - which I haven't done in a LONG time! And somehow wasn't hungover the next day. Score!

My computer is being SUPER slow now so I'll keep the rest of the weekend short and sweet.

We got back to Charleston around 4pm, got a quick nap, then went on to the next celebration - James' 30th birthday! We had a group of about 20 people to surprise James at Mellow Mushroom in Avondale for dinner, then we hit up the surrounding bars.

On Sunday, we celebrated Cameron's grandfather's 92nd birthday! Tojo is not your typical 92 year old  - he still hunts, fishes, and pretty much anything else you can think of. The weather yesterday, paired with the view and being with family, made it the perfect day.

One Year Ago Today...

What started out as a normal day of cleaning the house and getting last minute Christmas presents together, turned into my amazing boyfriend asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. :)

Now we're 14 weeks away from being husband and wife!

The Proposal Story!

I've finally gotten a chance to sit down and write out our proposal story! Things have been so crazy around here with the engagement, Christmas and my birthday!

Here's how it happened...

We decided to open presents on Friday, the 23rd, since I had to work a half day on Christmas Eve and after that we'd be running all over town that night and the next day. And let's be real - I love to open and give presents early.

So we give each other the big gifts first. I got him the Clemson cornhole boards and he got me the closet organizer I wanted. Then we moved on to the stockings. I thought maybe if it were going to happen, it would be like the last gift I took out of my stocking. But when the last thing I pulled out was a Yankee candle, the thought left my mind.

I started talking to Brady or something and didn't notice that Cameron had gotten up and walked away. He calls my name and asks me to come into the kitchen for a second. I take my time getting up and walk that way. I turn the corner and see him down on his knee with a ring in a ring box!

Through some nervous and excited laughter, he tells me how much he loves me and asks me to marry him. Through some shocked and exited laughter, and lots of tears, I say of course!

Our parents came over about 30 minutes later to celebrate with champagne! Only they and my bff were in on the surprise! After we called and texted everyone the exciting news, we went downtown to celebrate! It was all so surreal.

Our first monogram! - from Emily.

Thank you to each of you who left such sweet comments and congratulations! We are so excited!!

First and foremost, Happy Birthday to my beautiful Mom!
You are the best Mom a girl could ask for and I love you!

Next up, I'm loving THE GAMECOCKS!!! They won the College World Series Championship for the SECOND year in a row last night! First team to go undefeated in the CWS since 2001! 6th team in CWS history to win back to back titles! Special thanks to Caroline and Andy for letting me come over both nights to watch the games!

Loving Emily and I's lunch date with Biz on Monday to celebrate Biz's engagement!! So happy that she found someone that deserves an awesome girl like herself. We ate at Med Bistro and it was really good! I probably never would have thought to eat there if it wasn't for this lunch date, but I'm so glad she picked it!
Fried green tomato BLT with pimento cheese. Heaven!

Amazing hummus!

And as always, I love these two guys..

Have a great Wednesday!

The road to 27 dresses..

Saturday as I was leaving the grocery store, I got a very exciting text from my good friend, Jenny, saying "I'm ENGAGED!!!!" I was beyond excited because Jenny and Dan have been dating since our freshman year of college - that's 8 years!! Jenny and I have also been friends since freshman year of college, when we pledged the same sorority. She was from out of state and didn't have a car at school so I'd pick her up for football games in my POS car..good times, good times.

Now for the story: Jenny was at their house when Dan came home with a bunch of new toys and treats for Presley (their "son"). She didn't think much of it, as this dog is very spoiled. She was either about to get in the shower or had just gotten out of the shower (can't remember) when she noticed Presley had a new collar on. When she called Presley to get an up-close look, this is what she saw...
Yes, the date is one day off, but that's not the point! Jenny walked down stairs and Dan was on one knee. Isn't that such a cute story?!?! I can't wait to be a part of their big day next year!
The happy couple
Most likely the Best Man or Ring Bearer haha

And now..a trip down memory lane and my road to 27 Dresses...

Uncle Daryl & Aunt Cheryl (no pic..pre-digital camera days) June 2000

Leslie & Tyler - May 2008
Becca & Ryan - May 2009
Alyssa & Chris - April 2010
Emily & David - July 2010
And I will add 2 more bridesmaid dresses to my closet in 2011! Katie & Henry in May, Jenny & Dan most likely in August.

Is this normal for my age?? How many weddings have you been in?
