Stella and Dot Giveaway + A Shout Out to my Daddy!

Hi everyone! I had a very busy weekend with work (and some play) so I apologize for the lack of posts!

First of all, I won my very first blog giveaway last week! It's the World I Know gave away a super cute, brand new with tags, Lilly Pulitzer halter top and I was randomly chosen as the winner! Click the link to see a picture of it and check our "Cool Gal's" blog. The top will look great with my white skinny jeans!
Now, the newest giveaway that I entered to win is from Same Sweet Girl's blog. She is giving away a beautiful necklace from Stella and Dot seen below:
Stella and Dot is a jewelry line that makes it possible to shop directly on their website or host a trunk show. I'm thinking about hosting one, myself!

Here are a couple of my favorite pieces from their website:

Starfish Earrings - $34

Selma Brooch Cuff - On sale $83

And last but not least, I want to give a shout out to my Dad! He had some (more) skin cancer removed from his face last week and will be out of work for a few weeks. Even worse, he won't be able to attend my best friend's wedding on Saturday. :( Hope you're feeling better soon, Dad!

Bye Bye Saks

Next Sunday, the Saks in Charleston will be closing it's doors FOR-EV-ER. While this makes me sad, it makes my wallet happy. Although trying to find a place to park downtown makes me want to pull my hair out, I hate paying for shipping even more. So, yesterday after my BFF, Emily (who is getting married in 9 days!!!!) treated me to a massage, we went downtown to get my final fitting for my bridesmaid dress that is being made. What happens to be a few doors down from the seamstress? Saks. What is plastered all over Saks' windows? "60-80% off!" How could I, or anyone for that matter, resist?? After trying on a handful of dresses and a pair of jeans, I walked away with my very first pair (yes, you read that right) of Sevens. For $60! I don't get into the whole buying 25 pairs of similiar jeans at $200 each. That's just not me. I'd rather have 234385 dresses.

This weekend will be a busy one! Have a rehearsal dinner tomorrow night for work and then working a half day on Saturday before I head down to the City Marina to hopefully celebrate the Major Motion winning the Megadock tournament! Sunday will probably be spent on the boat recuperating from the tournament celebration (even if they don't win).

Happy 4th of July!

I type this as I sit at work, bored, with 2 hours left to go! Meanwhile, my family and friends are out in the sunshine enjoying the beautiful weather.

Since I work for the community association for Kiawah Island, there are a ton of property owners and their families at the pool today! There are decorations everywhere, a lunch buffet, pool games and a live musician. I would be totally excited about all that - if I could actually enjoy it instead of sitting inside, with nothing to do. I'll stop being a Negative Nancy now though :)

In lieu of Independence Day, I wore this dress (except mine is red, white & blue!..couldn't find an exact picture online):

Yesterday Cameron, Emily, Jonathan, Brady (pup) and I went out on the boat to Botany Bay. It started out really windy but finally calmed down. Saw a few friends I hadn't seen in a while and it turned out to be a really fun day! Waking up this morning at 7am was not so fun. Here are a few pics from yesterday..

So handsome.

Me & the bff, Emily, who gets married in 2 weeks! Ahh!!

Me & the Mr.

After work I'm headed to Cameron's parent's house for a 4th of July cookout! YUM! That is all of my randomness for now..

GAME!! COCKS!!

Tonight is Game 1 of 3 in the College World Series Championship! University of South Carolina (wooooooohooooooo!!!) vs. UCLA. Saturday night we beat our instate rival, Clemson, to make it to the championship. The last time USC made it to the championship was in 2002, where they were beat by Texas so yeah, it's a pretty big deal.

My parents and two other families rented a beach house on Folly for the week so I'll be watching the game there tonight (or at a near by bar if the house doesn't have ESPN for some crazy reason). Tomorrow a few girl friends will be joining me to work on our tans and to also celebrate my Mom's **th birthday (like how I hid your age, Mom? haha)

As I mentioned in my previous post, I went to a wedding Saturday night so here are some pics!

Cute pic of the groomsmen's jackets hanging from the tree. 95* and an outside reception! Hot Tamale!

Herrrrrrrre Fishy Fishy Fishy!

Thursday started the 3rd round of the South Carolina Governor's Cup Billfishing Series. It's made up of 5 different tournaments all over the state of South Carolina and it's a LOT of fun!

Cameron caught and released a sailfish, which put the Major Motion on the board with 200 points! Today is the last day of the tournament and a blue marlin is what we really want (600 points)!

Here are some pictures from Thursday night (from the tournament website):

Tonight we'll be heading to a wedding..actually it's my 11th grade boyfriend's wedding..Not weird though! I really like his fiance and they are really close with my parents. Should be a good time!

Oh, and I almost forgot! Carolina plays Clemson again tonight in the College World Series! We (Carolina, obvi) beat Clemson last night 5-1 and we play them again tonight at 8:00pm. HUGE rivalry, HUGE game. Me (Carolina) + Cameron (Clemson) = House Divided. It can get interesting. The winner goes on to play in the championship game vs. the winner of tonight's TCU / UCLA game! Will definitely be checking espn.com from my phone tonight at the wedding. GO COCKS!!
