Emily & David's Gender Reveal!

This weekend will definitely go down in the books as one of my favorites. We found out the sex of Emily & David's baby at a super fun gender reveal party and at the same time, our friend Katie was in labor with her little boy, Ashton!  

 

Emily had her 20 week appointment on Thursday and the doctor put the gender results on a piece of paper and sealed up the results. I was given the envelope and Saturday morning, headed to Party City to pick up the appropriate color balloons! I was so nervous that I was going to see someone that knew Emily and blow the surprise!

 Since I was one of the few who knew the sex of the baby, I bought an early gift for him -- a pair of Chuck Taylors so he can match his daddy! :)

Emily's Birthday! {Minute To Win It}

Before we get started today, I wanted to ask all of you a serious favor. One of my good friends, Jenny, is married to an amazing guy. Three months before they got married, Tim was diagnosed with colon cancer. He has been kicking it's butt since 2010, with a positive attitude, too, might I add. On Monday, he goes back in to have more tests run to determine what type of surgery he's going to have to have. A big bad one (we don't want that) or a small, not so bad one. Today is a very special day! It is my BFF's 28th birthday!! We celebrated last Saturday at her and her husband's house and they threw a Minute To Win It party. It was SO much fun!

Now they're off honeymooning in Turks & Caicos (jealous!!). I'm missing my mulitiple daily talks with my friend and want her to hurry up and come home! That's selfish, I know. I'm also going to be jealous of how tan she is when she gets back.

The Final Countdown!

The next time you hear from me, my best friend will be a married woman! SO weird, but SO happy for her. I wish could remember every single one of the fun times we had together, but I'm sure alcohol has to do something with my fuzzy memory.

Emily and I became friends our freshman year of college when we pledged the same sorority, Chi Omega. The next four years were full of mixers, road trips, tailgates, concerts, boys, and picking up the pieces for each other once our hearts broken by those boys. Now that we've graduated college, not much has changed..except that we're not attending mixers anymore and we get excited about buying furniture, gardening and other "grown up" activities.

The first time I "met" David was actually the day before Emily met him! I was on a friend's boat on July 4th two years ago and towards the end of the day, after many adult beverages had been consumed, there was this CRAZY guy dancing all by himself on the front of the boat. I laughed at him and didn't think much more about it.

The next day, a big group of us went to Folly beach for the day and went downtown that night. While we were at our typical hangout, Brick, I spotted Emily talking to a guy while she was waiting on a drink. I suddenly realized it was CRAZY BOAT DANCING GUY! I assumed she needed to be saved so I went over and tried to interfere. Come to find out, she was actually enjoying talking to CBDG, so I left the two of them alone. The following day, they went on a lunch date to Dog & Duck and the rest is history..I would also like to add that David claims that he saw Emily at Brick two weeks prior to them meeting and said he saw her checking him out.

Holy crap, I think I just wrote my MOH speech!
