Oh, hey!

It's me! Sorry to leave y'all hanging, been trying to learn as much as I can at my new job. I am loving everything about it so far..the flexibility, being a block away from King Street, a 20 minute commute rather than a 45 minute one , not having to be at work at 6:45am, and of course, my co-workers!

A warm welcome on my first day:
{welcome present from Kathryn / the office dog, Sandy, saying hi / beautiful flowers from the office}

What else have I been up to, you ask?

-The weekend after Labor Day the majority of our supper club group (14 adults, 3 babies) went on a mini vacay to Edisto Island. We rented an amazing house front beach. It was heaven. A typical day consisted of waking up, sipping coffee and mimosas on the porch overlooking the ocean, heading down to the beach where the boys surf fished and the girls lounged and played with babies, eating lunch then heading back down to the beach, come back and hang out on the porch, eat dinner, play drinking games. Repeat. We all agreed that it went by way too fast and we need to stay longer next year.

Got cleaned up and went out to dinner one night to Whaley's.
Their sushi nachos were on point!

-Was offered a ticket last minute to the South Carolina / Georgia game last weekend. To be honest, I really didn't think we had a chance of winning due to our previous games, so you can imagine my surprise when we actually started off the game doing well! It was a nail biter all throughout the game, but the Gamecocks came away with the W!

Our awesome seats - thanks, Uncle Jay!

-This weekend, I'm looking forward to Savannah being in town from DC for Ashton's 1st birthday!

Alexandria Trip - Part 1.

This week has been a busy, sleep deprived one so I apologize in putting the re-cap off for so long!

Our trip to Alexandria, VA was a blast! I love when all most of my favorite people are in one location having a good time together! Which makes me think of how fun our wedding is going to be, no matter what happens! If all of the people we love are there, that will be all we need!

Anyway, back to the trip...

We flew into the Reagan airport around noon and were almost immediately confused tourists. The metro really threw us for a loop, until the nice attendant came to our rescue and explained everything to us. After that, the metro was actually kind of fun! I'm sure it gets old after a while though.

After we stored our bags at the hotel, we walked up King St in hopes of stumbling across a good place to eat lunch. We succeeded! We wound up eating at a place called Hank's Oyster Bar. They had some TASTY bloody mary's....but they're only for horseradish likers because you could DEFINITELY taste the horseradish.
They brought you a cute little bowl of goldfish to start off with!

And they brought you a tasty little bowl of dark chocolate at the end! I think I ate most of it.
After our lunch, we had a few hours to spare so we went into downtown DC to check out all of the tourist-y things.

That night, Savannah and Dan had a welcome party for their out of town guests at The Chart House.  It was so fun to meet Dan's side of the family and to see my friends that don't live in Charleston!

The Chi O's

After the welcome party we found a bar with a great DJ and sang, danced and stayed up well past our bedtimes!

Stay tuned for part 2...

I'm baaaaaaaack.

Did you miss me? :) I surely did not miss being at work!

If you didn't catch what Ashton mentioned in her guest post, we found out the morning that we left that we were no longer going to Bermuda thanks to Hurricane Irene, we were now headed to Cozumel, Mexico and Key West, Florida. Not gonna lie, I was pretty bummed at first but only because I had already been on a cruise to both of those places in college. But I got over it quickly and thought to myself hey, vacation is vacation!
Leaving Charleston, first drink in hand!
The "young" crew on the first night.
In the Cat's Lounge after dinner on the 2nd night.
It's CB!
After dinner, night 3.
The Three Amigos (me, Cameron's mom & Cameron) in Cozumel!
Getting ready to go snorkeling in Cozumel!
Entertainment on the catamaran..including the Mexican Brett Michaels!
Lemme ride that zonkey, zonkey!
Cameron's 88 year old grandfather dancing at dinner. :)
Cameron and I on the double slides.
With our awesome server, Phillipe, at dinner on the last night. I will never hear the word "sexy" again without thinking of him!
The crew, minus the Lewandowski's.
Sorry, no pics from Key West. It was spent shopping and bar hopping.

Thank you so much to my guest posters! I was so excited to come home and read your posts!

Oh yeah, and tomorrow is the season opener for the Gamecocks!! SO PUMPED!

Crusin'.

I have been waiting for tomorrow to come since June when we booked this vacation! A 6 day cruise to Bermuda! And now, all of the sudden, Hurricane Irene is trying to get up in my grill and ruin my plans. Not gonna happen. We're leaving from Charleston (so nice not to have to drive to Florida!) and she's not expected to show up here until Saturday, and when we get back on Wednesday she'll already be up north so I think we'll be fine! I'm going to be prepared with my motion sickness patch just in case!

Here's hoping to what my vacation will be full of..sunshine, frozen adult beverages by the pool, good food, sight seeing and kid-like activities.

I've got a great line up of guest bloggers starting tomorrow! See yall next week! :)
