Nine Months.

Just found this in my drafts! Super behind, obviously. Sorry boys, but you keep me busy!

I feel like there is so much to update on and I'm always worried I'll forget something, so I keep notes in my phone as they pop into my head.

TRAVIS

Stats -

Teeth - Travis is currently cutting his top FOUR teeth. No wonder he was so whiny a few weeks ago! Now that they have broken through the surface, they don't seem to bother him as much other than some extra drool and wanting to gnaw on everything.

Words - Still just Dada. Mama is working hard to try to get you to say her name though.

Movement - Getting faster and faster at crawling.  You love to pull up on everything, especially mommy and in your crib! Putting a diaper and clothes on you these days is the equivalent to wrestling a greased pig. You automatically want to flip over. I try to distract you with something, but it only lasts for a second.

Food - You are getting better and better at eating table food and have tried a lot of different things! The only thing you don't like so far is scrambled eggs. I think it's the texture.

REID

Stats -

Teeth - Still just the bottom two, although you are wanting to chew on things more than normal so I'm expecting we'll see some top teeth soon.

Words - Nothing yet. You don't really babble much yet, but you do let out some pretty ear piercing squeals. Cute at home, not so much in public.

Movement - You started crawling about two weeks after your brother. We knew you wouldn't be far behind! You love to pull up on everything, especially mommy!

Food - You do really well at eating table food! We haven't found anything that you won't eat yet. That has pretty much been the norm since day 1. You love your food!

Nickname - A few months ago while you were staying at GrAnn and Grandaddy's house, Grandaddy nicknamed you "Reido Burrito" and it has stuck like glue!

Your personalities seemed to have pulled a switcheroo on us! Travis used to be the chill, observant one and now he wants to be the life of the party. Reid will just sit back and take it all in. This picture is the perfect example. Travis will not sit still!

Eight Months

8 MONTHS OLD | How can this be?? Two bottom teeth each. Travis started crawling a day before he turned 8 months. Reid loves to clap and wave. Travis babbles Da Da. Both LOVE pulling up and dislike diaper/pajama time after baths. Life with them sure is fun!

Travis got sent home from daycare after catching hand, foot, mouth. Mommy got extra (uncomfortable) snuggles. Luckily, it was a mild case.

Seven Months

Playing a little catch up today. The boys are now a little over 8 months, so hopefully I can remember everything for their 7 month post!

7 MONTHS OLD || Both boys are sitting up on their own, love their solids, and continue to sleep through the night! Travis has his two bottom teeth. They are such happy, chill babies and are so much fun!! Thanks to Dee Dee for making these adorable outfits!

We finally moved on to the next Moms on Call schedule which is:
7am - Bottle
8am - Breakfast
9am - Nap
11am - Bottle
12pm - Lunch
1pm - Nap
3pm - Bottle
5pm - Snack or Dinner
6:30pm - Bath
7pm - Bottle/Bed

We've also started introducing the sippy cup with some water in it. Reid seems to be catching on a little faster than Travis with it.

Eating - Both do well with purees and we haven't found anything that they despise. I try to give them some Mum Mums (teething wafers) to help them learn how to chew. I was thinking about doing Baby Led Weaning with them, but ultimately my fears of them choking got in the way. Also, speaking of eating, I don't think I mentioned it last month, but they can both hold their bottles themselves! They lay in their Twin Z Pillow and just feed themselves! It's pretty nice. :)

Sleep - Again, they both do pretty great sleep wise, and we are super thankful for that! Last month, Travis ditched the Dock a Tot and swaddle, and Reid ditched the swaddle. Travis prefers sleeping on his stomach. Right now Reid is still content sleeping on his back, but won't be in the Dock a Tot much longer.

Six Months!

I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE SIX MONTH OLDS!!!
Photo from their six month pictures taken by Kelly Conley Photography

At their 6 month check up, Reid weighed 16lbs7oz and was 26" tall. Travis weighed 16lbs3oz and was 26" tall. The nurse had to measure twice because she couldn't believe they were the exact same height and so close in weight!

We started solids around 5.5 months..I was trying to wait until 6 months, but it just seemed so fun! Reid being Reid took to it really well, but Travis didn't want anything to do with it. I didn't force it with Travis, if he didn't want to eat it, I wouldn't make him. Eventually he came around once I started sending the solids to daycare with them. Now he can't get enough! So far they have tried oatmeal, bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, and pears.

They are thick into teething. Travis got both of his bottom teeth at the same time right before they turned six months! Reid is still gnawing on everything and it will be any day now before a tooth pops through.

Travis started rolling from back to stomach around 5.5 months and because of that, is now sleeping unswaddled and without his Dock a Tot! The first couple of nights without the Dock a Tot he would wake up randomly whining, but now sleeps the majority of the time on his stomach. Reid is super close to rolling from back to stomach, and I am not rushing him sleeping without his Dock a Tot. For some reason I don't think he'll adjust as well as Travis did. Hoping he surprises me though!

They're also sitting up on their own! I mean, I wouldn't plop them down and walk away by any means, but they can really sit up!! It is so dang cute!

They LOVE bouncing and playing in their Exersaucers and love playing with things they're not supposed to play with, like my pump tubing.

I really love their personalities at this age and can only imagine how much more fun they will get! Travis LOVES Gus and his eyes light up when he comes in the room. Reid always wakes up with the biggest smile on his face and is the most talkative in the morning.

And now some photos from our adventures...
