Memorial Day Weekend.

Whew, I forgot how fun, yet exhausting 3 day weekends were! Especially when they're spent in the sun all day, every day.

We started on the boat, leaving from Johns Island and headed towards Kiawah. It was super windy (which continued all weekend), so after a few hours on the boat we headed back to the pool. This picture cracks me up because it looks like Andy and Cameron are checking out some babes on the beach.

It was Lane's first time on the boat and it's safe to say he loved it!

Later that night we celebrated both of our niece's birthdays! Can't believe how grown up they are becoming!

On Sunday, we acted like we were in college again and made the bumpy trek to Morris Island. The filter Molly used on this pic makes it look like we were in the Caribbean though!

Sunday morning I actually woke up without a hangover and got some things done around the house. That afternoon, we went back out to Cameron's parent's pool and brought Brady with us. Poor guy had been by himself in the house the past two days for 10+ hours! He needed some play time, too.

Got to hang out with our adorable nieces (and wonderful sister-in-laws!) again. Marin, one of my nieces, snapped this picture of our youngest niece, Arden, and Cameron. Pretty sure my heart officially melted.

Now it's past my bedtime and I'm having a hard time putting together sentences. Goodnight!

Lane is ONE!

Today is Lane's 1st Birthday!

For those of you who don't know who Lane is, he's my best friend's baby, but I love him like he's my own! We celebrated him turning one last Sunday and his parent's threw a pretty awesome birthday party. We're talking a gourmet grilled cheese food truck, bouncy house, a men's lounge in the garage, and so many adorable details!

Let's start with those adorable details...

I love how she did his monthly pictures by laying him on a calendar.

Our super talented friend, Jen, made his chalkboard sign.

Now on to the fun!

Cake time!

Happy 1st Birthday, Lane!!!
You are so loved!

Weekend in a Nutshell.

This weekend was pretty non-stop, but I was outside in the beautiful sunny 70* weather, so that made it all worth it!

Friday night after work, we ate dinner at the in-laws' house, with my parents also in attendance. Delicious food and a LOT of delicious wine was consumed. I couldn't believe that when we got up from the table to leave it was 11pm!

On Saturday and Sunday I volunteered for the BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival. Saturday I was assigned to the "Virginia is for (Wine + Food) Lovers" event at Zero George. There were four different stations set up between their courtyard, oyster tabby, and open kitchen. Each station had a food and wine pairing, with their chef and wine representative to describe each pairing. It was a great event and everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves.

That evening, we celebrated Cameron's aunt's 60th birthday! I loved the centerpieces they put together made of blown sea glass, shells, lights, and coral.

Sunday, before I went off to volunteer again, we attended Lane's dedication! He was perfect (of course) and didn't make a peep the entire time.

My shift for Sunday at the Wine + Food Festival was at Marion Square (thank goodness - I wanted to be where the action was!). I worked at one of the ticket scanning stations for about an hour, then was rotated to the live grilling demonstration area where the chefs grilled up some venison sausage and skirt steak with chimichurri. Delish! I was able to take about a 20 minute break and they allowed us to go around and sample the food and beverages like a real paying customer! :)

I came home after my shift and enjoyed the daylight savings sunlight in the backyard with my guys. Cameron had dinner planned (love!) and on the grill, so all I had to do was relax.

Friday Five: Vday Celebrations, Baby Lane, Credit Card Payoff, Ballet Flats + Good News.

Back for another Friday Five with five things that have made me happy this week!

{one}
Since I have to work an event tonight, Cameron and I celebrated Valentine's Day last night. I had to stop by the grocery store after work, so I picked up Cameron's gifts while I was a there - a 12 pack of Sam Adams Seasonal and some NY strips. Beer + steaks = the way to my man's heart. I also bought him this card since he's been on a bourbon kick lately and he always used to jokingly tell me I was "neat" when we first started dating. Ha.

When I got home from the store, I walked in the door and immediately dropped the groceries. Not because there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers sitting on the table, but because he got me the gift I had mentioned I wanted one multiple times. A simple letter. It was perfect.

And then he took me out to a delicious dinner at the Mustard Seed
Love that man.

Ok, get ready for Lane picture overload. That sweet nugget graced us with his presence Tuesday evening and my phone is already full of pics of him. He's just so perfect!

Ready to go home!

{three}
As some of you may have seen on Instagram earlier this week, I paid off another credit card on Monday! Feels so good! That would be #3 out of 6. Only one is a major credit card, the rest being cards like Victoria's Secret, Best Buy, etc that I stupidly opened up in college. Again, I have Cameron to thank for really pushing me to pay these things off.

Yesterday, Katie posted about some flats from Target and the cognac version caught my eye. My TB Revas are not cutting it any longer. The right shoe will not stay on my heel and I get so frustrated when I wear them. I'm about to take them to a consignment store and swap them out for the Target pair until I can buy the tan TB Caroline's.
Mossimo Ona Scrunch Ballet Flats

Got some good news Wednesday afternoon and I can't wait to share with y'all if everything works out! Just keep your fingers crossed for me por favor. :)

Scary Night / Exciting Morning.

Last night, after Cameron and I finally settled on what to watch on Netflix, we heard what sounded like fire engine sirens..and they were CLOSE. I looked out the front window and saw nothing, Cameron happened to look out the back window and saw a firetruck go down the street behind our house! He curiously walked out back and yelled for me to come out there! What we saw was like a blow to the stomach - huge flames that lit up the sky, coming from the roof of a house maybe just 5 houses down and behind from us!

Cameron is friends with a guy on Facebook that actually lives on that street, and he posted this picture last night. News reports state that there was a man pulled from the house and taken to the hospital, where he was last reported in critical condition. I sure hope he is ok!! No determination has been made as to what caused the fire yet.

-------

On a happier note, my best friend, Emily, has been at the hospital since 7am this morning and is currently in labor with her first born, Lane! The last update that I got, about 30 minutes ago, she was only 4cm dilated and was waiting on her epidural.
You can do it, Em!

Emily's Baby Shower.

This past Saturday, myself and a handful of Emily's closest friends and family threw her a baby shower at her sister's house! Emily always throws the best showers and parties for her friends so we wanted to make it extra special for her and Baby Lane.

Invitations, Wishes for Baby, and Menu Cards were purchased from Allison Kizer Designs on Etsy.

The guest of honor arriving to her shower!

Details, details, details...

Cardboard letters painted white with washi tape.
Every week, Emily would take a picture of her bump and text it to me. I had them printed out so everyone could see the progression.
(Picture taken before I realized that week 14 was upside down..)
 Present time!

The sweetest gift from our friend, Kathryn. She always gives the most thoughtful gifts!
