Birthday Shout-Out + Giveaway Winner!

Today is my Mother-in-Law's birthday! To say I'm lucky to have her in my life is an understatement. Not only did I marry a wonderful man, but I married into an amazing family. She is kind, loving, a great friend, and giving.

We are celebrating with dinner at Fat Hen tonight and I may have already picked out what I'm going to order. It's a habit of mine to choose what I'll be eating before I even get to the restaurant - am I alone here?

The Weekend: Baby Shower + Wedding.

This past weekend held two very exciting events, both on Saturday.

The day started out with a baby shower for Ashley (Cameron's cousin's wife) and her baby boy, Bowman! The hosts did a great job with all of the details of the shower and the mommy-to-be looked great!

Bought this onesie from Baby Tweets.

I scooted out of the shower a little early to head to the next event - Leah & Adam's wedding! The ceremony was held all the way at the end of Folly, where the lighthouse is located. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but neither Cameron nor I, as Charleston natives, have never been to this spot before.

It was such an intimate and special ceremony. Everyone gathered around the bride and groom in a circle. No chairs, no microphones, just them, their closest friends and family, surrounded by love and happiness.

Sweet moment during a prayer by her dad.

Funny story about the guy below - he was painting near the ceremony and I mentioned to Cameron that this is a new "thing" at weddings. Artists will come and paint a picture of the ceremony or reception. Well, we were talking to Leah's dad at the reception, the guy came up in our conversation, and her dad said that they didn't hire him - he just happened to be there and painted the ceremony!

The reception was held at Crosby's Dock on Folly and we were welcomed by an awesome sunset.

Selfie.

Me and the beautiful bride!

Friday Five.

{one}
Cameron's sweet grandma, who we call Rara, needs some prayers or positive thoughts. She was in the hospital for about two weeks and now is in a nursing home. All she really wants to do is be at her own home. So if praying is your thing, please pray for strength and improved health for her, and strength for her family! Thank you!!

I upgraded to the new iPhone 5c last weekend and am loving it so far! Now I'm in the market for a new case and am really liking the Etsy store LucyCelebrates.
This case is the current top contender:

Wednesday at work, we threw a surprise shower for Leah who is getting married this weekend! She is my favorite co-worker and I was so excited to help with the party! We were talking on gchat last week and she was a little disappointed that no one from work had done anything special for her. It made me so sad, but happy at the same time because I knew what was really in the works. She was definitely surprised and very thankful.
Her wedding is going to be beautiful tomorrow!

With Kristen's wedding last weekend and Leah's this weekend, I found myself feeing very nostalgic yesterday while thinking about all of the weddings that I've been in and to. So I did what any person who was supposed to be working would do, I went through Facebook pictures and put together a collage from some of my closest friends' weddings! :) It was so fun to look back and remember each of those nights.

The following picture has been circulating on Facebook from this past weekend and has received lots of comments and likes. My friend Savannah posted the picture and captioned it, "This is what happens when Carolina and Clemson get married." That would be me holding up the number 4 (Carolina is currently on a 4 win streak against Clemson) and Cameron giving my number 4 the bird. I usually don't talk a lot of smack to Cameron about Clemson because it can get pretty heated, but like I mentioned before, the wine was flowing that night and I was feeling pretty sassy. Man I hope we beat them again this year...Love you, Cam! :)

Kristen and Cal's Wedding!

This past Friday, Cameron and I drove to Columbia to Kristen & Cal's big day! Kristen and I were in the same Rho Chi group going through rush and wound up pledging in the same sorority! We became good friends throughout college and lived together in the Chi Omega house our junior year. She and Cal are perfect for each other - laid back and fun loving!

Their wedding was located at The Millstone at Adams Pond. The temperature for the outdoor ceremony and reception was absolutely perfect. All of the details were well thought out and beautiful. My favorites were the cake table linen, the outdoor dancefloor under café lighting, and the not-so-typical flowers.

Oh, and I still need to find out what kind of chardonnay they were serving. That junk was GOOD.

Isn't she gorgeous?!?
Thanks for the collage, Jenny!
My beautiful bestie.

My good lookin' date.

Singing our sorority song, "Shades"

We've got one last wedding on the books this weekend for my sweet friend/co-worker, Leah, and I know it will be awesome! She has amazing style...and her and her fiancé actually remind me of Kristen & Cal! You'll see what I'm talking about next week when I post pics.

Tasty Tuesday: Lemon, Orzo & {Chicken} Meatball Soup.

Lemon, Orzo, and {Chicken} Meatball Soup
Recipe and photo from Southern Living Magazine.

1 pound ground chicken
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup fine, dry breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon kosher salt
4 teaspoons loosely packed lemon zest, divided
1 teaspoon dried crushed rosemary, divided
3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 medium-size sweet onion, chopped
3 carrots, thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (32-oz.) containers chicken broth
5 to 6 Tbsp. lemon juice
3/4 cup orzo pasta
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves

Combine first 4 ingredients, 2 tsp. lemon zest, and 1/2 tsp. rosemary in a medium bowl. Shape into 30 (1-inch) meatballs (about 1 level tablespoonful each).

Sauté meatballs, in 2 batches, in 1 Tbsp. hot oil per batch in a Dutch oven over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes or until browned. Remove using a slotted spoon.

Sauté onion and next 2 ingredients in remaining 1 Tbsp. hot oil in Dutch oven over medium-high heat 3 to 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in broth, lemon juice, and remaining 2 tsp. zest and 1/2 tsp. rosemary. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Add orzo. Reduce heat to medium; simmer, stirring occasionally, 7 to 9 minutes or until pasta is almost tender.

Stir in meatballs; simmer, stirring occasionally, 5 to 7 minutes or until meatballs are thoroughly cooked. Add salt and pepper to taste. Top with cheese and parsley.
