The other day I randomly checked out the Charleston Wedding Magazine website to see if I knew anyone in the engagement / wedding announcements, and what do you know? I did! US! I totally forgot that I submitted our announcement to them!

Tasty Tuesday - First CSA and Recipe Used!
Apologize for no weekend recap post yet. I'm still exhausted from a super fun weekend in DC!
We received our first bag of CSA veggies last Wednesday and I was very impressed!
Corn, potatoes, green beans, peaches, tomatoes, green pepper, squash, zucchini, jalepenos, green onions and beets (had to text Christina to make sure those were beets!)
I'm so glad we're splitting this small share with Caroline & Andy! We could never eat all of this in one week.
So the first night, I used this recipe for the green beans..
Roasted Parmesan Green Beans
from Skinnytaste
12 oz green beans, trimmed (make sure they are dry)
2 tsp olive oil
kosher salt + fresh cracked pepper to taste
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tbsp shredded parmesan
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum for
easy clean-up.
Lay green beans out on the baking sheet and drizzle oil over them. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder and toss to evenly coat.
Lay green beans out on the baking sheet and drizzle oil over them. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder and toss to evenly coat.
Spread them out on the sheet so that they all lay flat and place on the lower
third section of your oven. Bake 10 minutes, shake the pan to turn;
bake 5 additional minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with
grated cheese.

Leavin' On A Jet Plane!
We're off to the DC / Alexandria area this morning to celebrate Savannah & Dan tying the knot!
We'll be landing around noon so we plan on spending the day doing all of the tourist-y things like the Smithsonian, White House, Lincoln Memorial, etc.
For those of you who live or have visited Alexandria, any suggestions of a place to eat dinner tonight? We'll be staying at a hotel on King Street, so anywhere in that area would be ideal.
They're having a welcome party for the out-of-towners after the rehearsal dinner so we'll be able to hang out with everyone before the wedding!

Wedding Wednesday: Updates.
Just a few updates today on the wedding planning..
-The save the dates are in! Yes, I kind of jumped the gun on ordering them, but just so you know, I'm not planning on sending them out until August. The "rule" is that you're supposed to send them out 6-9 months before the wedding. If the wedding is a destination wedding and/or you have a lot of out of towners, or around a major holiday, you're supposed to send them out closer to the 9 month mark to give everyone a chance to plan their trips. If my wedding wasn't the day before Easter (oops), I probably wouldn't have planned on sending them out until September because the majority of the guests live in Charleston. So, there is my reasoning for sending them out in August. :)
I ordered them so early because the website that I ordered them from, Wedding Paper Divas, was running a Memorial Day special and I wound up receiving a 20% discount! I was super impressed with this company regarding their customer service, fast shipping and quality of the product.
-I met with another florist last Friday that my mom

Exciting News All Around + Our Sunday!
Last Wednesday, I got a very exciting text from Cameron saying, "I passed!" That's right, my fiance is now a certified Professional Engineer. I had no doubt in my mind that he would pass, but it was definitely a big relief to find out.
| Certificate addition about his Clemson diploma. |
To celebrate, we went and ate at Cork in Park Circle. It.was.so.good.
We split the Dynamite shrimp appetizer, which is similar to Bonefish Grill's Bang Bang Shrimp, and quickly devoured it.
He ordered the salmon special, which was super tasty...and I don't ever do salmon.
I ordered the "Buttered Crumb Fresh Catch of the Day," which was wreck fish.
It consisted of a "parmesan panko crust, grilled romaine heart with balsamic reduction, blistered grape tomatoes, olive and herb gremolata." I LOVED it.
Wish I would have taken pictures but the tables in the section we were in were SUPER close together and I would have looked like a weirdo.
I did take one pic that night when I was cuddled up on the couch to my super smart man. :)
The other exciting news is that we're getting to hop on the CSA train through Cameron's work! The amount will be prorated because it started last month and we're going to split it with our friends, Caroline and Andy! We got an email earlier this morning saying that this week we'll be receiving corn, squash, zuchinni, peppers, green/pink tomatoes, potatoes, onions, peaches, cucumbers, and maybe snap beans.
Most excited about the green tomatoes!
I had work events Friday & Saturday night so I was more than pumped to spend all day Sunday relaxing on the boat and in the pool.
| Where will will be getting married in 299 days! |
Hope yall had a great weekend!!
