Home Decorating Question!

The rug we ordered from Ballard Designs FINALLY came in yesterday.

But do you think it's too small or just right?

The room is pretty big and we wanted to cover up the ugly parquet floor, but I don't want the rug to be TOO big either.

HELP!

  1. I think it's just right! You don't want it too big. You can see it and it completely covers under your table. Looks great!

  2. You could maybe go a LITTLE bit bigger, but what you have now is good. You definitely don't want it TOO big. I think this works.

  3. I think it works!! If it was much bigger it would interfere with the walking path of the room! It's a super cute pattern!

  4. It fits the table but you could def go bigger if you want to cover the floor.

  7. Oh I love the rug. I think it looks fine there, but if you pull the chairs out to sit, do they go over the edge? If not, perfect!! It does look really good though.

  8. The rug is gorgeous, but I think it may be too small. Can you exchange and get the bigger size?

  9. It is gorgeous, but I agree it may be a little too small once you pull the chairs out.

  10. I agree with the majority, you could definitely go bigger. If chairs are all the way out, it's only *just big enough. As far as dining room rugs go, I say give walking space around the table that is carpeted.

  13. Too small? I think the "rule" is you should be able to pull your chair away from the table to stand up and the chair still be on the rug.

  15. I would say go bigger, too. We just bought a few rugs for the house, so this is the only reason I can offer this tip: We were told that for the dining room rug, your rug should extend 2 feet from the table so that when someone pulls the chairs out, the chair doesn't touch the floor. CUTE, CUTE rug, though! If this is a 5 X 7, I'd prob go with an 8 X 10. That's our rug size in the dining room.

  21. I love the rug but agree that it's a touch too small. It really looks great in the room and I think you will feel better if the chairs don't go off of the rug when they are pulled out. Good luck!

  22. I could see your thinking that it is a bit too small...I like it as it is, but if you wanted to go bigger I think it might make the room bigger. And I love the ikea pieces you're using as a buffet.

  28. Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in
your article seem to be running off the screen in Opera.
I'm not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to let you
know. The design and style look great though! Hope you get the problem fixed soon.
