Wedding Wednesday: Rehearsal Dinner.

Let's talk about the rehearsal dinner. From the beginning I knew it would be so fun to have it in Cameron's parents backyard and I was so happy that they were so excited when I mentioned it!

The plan is to have it in their back yard under a tent, overlooking the Stono river. You can even see our wedding venue from their backyard!

It will be a laid back affair where the menu will consist of barbeque and sides, tablecloths will be blue gingham and centerpieces will be simple.

Here are some invitation choices..

1, 2, 3, 4

Entertainment will be by the one and only Calvin Taylor!
Beer and sodas will be served out of an old john boat.
My one request was that boiled peanuts be served as a snack!
clockwise: 1, 2, 3, 4

Need to find an excuse to use this..

What do you think? Am I missing anything?

  8. How awesome is this going to be ... I love all of the inspiration! The drinks out of the boat is such a fun touch that I've never seen done before.

You could seal your envelopes on the invitations but then use a little square of the washi tape at the bottom of it to look like that's what is sealing it.

  10. Love it! Definitely the kind of thing we're going for. Here are the invites we ordered and I think they could be up your ally too! http://www.etsy.com/listing/93100292/bbq-barn-bash-wedding-shower?ref=v1_other_2 I've seen her do it in the blue ribbon and blue checkered gingham! :) I just love that it's like 3-d with the raffia ribbon! WOO!! I actually should be receiving them any day now. But good for you for planning so early!!

  11. I love this! Rehearsal dinners are an often overlooked part of the wedding, but can be a lot of fun to plan. You can definitely use some of the things you couldn't use in your wedding, since it's a lot more laid back and informal. I love your ideas, and I'm sure you'll be able to use that washi tape somehow ;)

  15. so fun! Jon's mother is hosting our rehearsal dinner at our venue (which we have for the whole weekend) and I'm actually really looking forward to not planning any of it. To be honest, I think it's just going to be a family dinner x100 - which is just what we want :)

  16. Girl, we are doing the SAME thing!!! We did want to do a lowcountry boil (we lived in Charleston for a year and loooove the low country) but have decided on a bbq because it is much more readily available here in KY (and less expensive as well to have catered). Check out my pinterest board for some ideas! http://pinterest.com/kjtoms2/wedding-rehearsal-dinner/

  22. Good to know about this rehearsal dinner. Couple of months ago, I had arranged a dinner party for my friends at one of excellent Seattle venues. Hired a reputed caterer who made delicious food for event and we all had amazing time there.
